Man's best friend ... the dawgy thread

Dogs are pretty boss, though. I love my missus', we think he's a half retarded staffy/lab cross. He's so so well behaved it's beyond me, especially for a rescue dog. Little fucker plays games with us though; he has a habit of getting into bed with us and cuddling like you would a person, and if I'm cuddled up to her he'll put his head right across her neck and look at me til I move away. And if she won't give him what he wants (food/toy/whatever), he'll pad round to get into my side of the bed and do the same while giving her evils.

We're trying to keep him out the bed at all now cos it's too hot just with two of us (and her insistence on all these Asian blankets and cushions and fuck knows what) but he won't sleep without a blanket and a pillow now. He is ridiculous and I love him to bits. When I passed out from too much Etiz he stayed with me downstairs til I came round and went upstairs to bed. Tryin to find a pic of him but effort atm.

Dogs are the best, wish I could have one of my own but don't really have the money

dogs are fucking horrible animals.

TAnd he never spent a minute on a lead. Not only this, but he took himself out for walks. He was originally someone else's dog. This person brought Max round once. He lived about three miles away, up Kilburn High Rd on the edge of Willesden. About 2 weeks after the dog had been brought round, his owner was visiting us again, but without Max. There was a bark at the door and yes, it was Max. Brought himself round. He then proceeded to do this again and again and again. One lunchtime I was eating in a restaurant on Kilburn High Rd with my gf and Max went walking past, on his way round to ours.

Haha, sounds like an awesome dog.

He was great.

He did runners from his previous owner because the bloke went out to work and the dog didn't like being locked up all day. He only ever did about three runners from us. (We'd leave him confidently, off lead, outside shops when we went shopping). Each time all we had to do was go to the park 400 yards away where he'd gone to play/fuck with other dogs.

"Max has fucked off again"

"You go to the park then"

"No, you go. I went last time."

He was always there.

Sounds like he had a massive personality SHM, can tell he meant a lot to you as well as I've never seen a lengthy post from you :)<3

My border collie got taken way before his time and he had all the 'right' food, just shows cancer doesn't care.

You actually get points for being a cheeky cunt. :)

I've written enough long posts to have a plethora of people exercising their tl;dr rights. Instigate debate and I'll show you what BL used to be like when people actually debated with the use of links etc.

Fuck it, this is the dawgy thread. Woof.

Debate? Considering that word isn't synonymous with argument EEAD must've been very different back in't day!

Couldn't knock this place though, only came to bluelight to ask a few drug-related questions now I obsessively check this forum for new posts all day..

Really <3 dogs myself.
I've had a dog / dog's around me all my life, the longest I've been without a dog is only a few months in over 30 years. I've had my life saved by a pet once which woke me up when the room was on fire & I'm not joking I would be dead if it wasn't for Sadie (the sexy lady)
Yeah that's what we called her as she had this bizarre walk she would do when she saw a male dog & kind or booty pop for the other dog!!!
I taught it to dance & it would hop from paw to paw then howl but it was more like dog singing, she also used to sing along to portishead track mysterons (sp?)
She was the most wise & loyal dog plus like stone happy monday said she would walk herself & it was a regular event for her to go to the park, go down the slide a few times, drink some pond water then come back home.

Last dog I had myself was an American bulldog but it was a very bad dog & I had to sell her, she was untrained & I worked with her for 6 months with no joy, the day she tried to bite my face was the final straw for me :(

Commence serious post:

My family had a dog when I was younger. I must have been young when she died but I do remember her a bit. She was weird. My mum always called her 'autistic'. She would rather sit staring into space in the back garden than be around people. Dogs got problems too evidently.

My mates dog is class though. Really friendly, playful, dog like. A normal dog. We had 4 cats after our dog died so I've always been more of a cat person. But my friends dog (drogo, named after khal drogo from game of thrones) is pretty funny.

I was left in his house alone with him and he followed me everywhere (well, the long journey from the lounge to the upstairs toilet.) So needy. Seeing him swim made me laugh my ass off. I was stoned, but still.

Yeah I like cats and dogs. Both have their pros and cons I guess.

If I were to ever get a dog I would want a 'classic' looking one. No rat sized ones etc. And as much as I love pugs, I'd rather have a husky or a labrador.

To paraphrase the great Ron Swanson 'Any dog under 50lbs is a cat, and cats are pointless'
