Oh my fucking god. Look at that pog :) :) :)

He looks a handful mind, bright as a button.

Lovely.

aye. he can jump up to the edge of the kitchen work surfaces and stretch forward and reach even the smallest object at the farthest point now :( :( :(

@ shm, he'll have a bandana probably at some point. That harness is slightly too big but he'll grow into it in the next few months

sorry adam ... misread ;p

somehow tho, I don't think you're gonna get many pog collections coming out of the woodwork ... we can but hope

You can get special extra wide collars for lurchery greyhoundy types. I bet he races flat out on that sand, must be joyful to watch.

The hard work & puppy years will all be worth it Marmz.

Until all the pog collecting lurkers chime in Adam (its only a amatter of time, I'm sure) can we just keep talking about dogs?

that's one of the wide ones, but a puppy one, it's just hard to see from that angle.

he was impossible to walk or train using a leash and a neck collar, so we bought the harness on the advice of the trainer at puppy school. really glad we did because now he's a pleasure to walk and it's loads better. I wanted one from the start but Nerdboy was adamantly against it in the beginning.

Nerdboy says it will be a year to 18months before he can go off lead (and then it's not guaranteed). So absolutely no running on that completely desolate beach, which is almost impossible to escape from because of 20ft high sea defenses ... 8)

No way, thats bonkers! He needs to be off the lead! The sooner you do it the better surely, or else it really will be a novelty and he's likely to take off. Mine have always just followed us, their pack. If you hide from them from time to time it encourages to keep their attention on you. And then lots of fuss and treats when they come back when called.

I hope nerdboy comes round to your way of thinking, he'll be more chilled and trainable at home too if he has a good sprint to get rid of excess energy. (the dog, not the boy :))

He's a beaut, thats for sure <3

He shouldn't be sprinting at all badandwicked. He'll hurt and ruin his young joints on that soft sand and have joint problems for life. Not to mention more than likely completely disappear because he's a sight hound so will just bolt if he wants to. Presumably over the 20ft wall or just into the sea or something.

Logic and reason and intuition fail, when google is your literal advice centre.

Frustrating isn't the word missus.

Haha I bet :D

And you never know when a cat or rabbit might streak past his line of vision on that there beach.

Bless, him, sounds like he cares which is a good good thing. And it sounds like you're both doing an great job. More pet owners should be like you.

Anyway, back to pogs. Awesome slammer, adam :)

@ badandwicked: So, in relation to the dogs safety, it seems the best policy to adopt is one akin to humans not ever leaving the house in order to avoid getting killed by a passing car or hit by a meteor, BUT in terms of food consumption, pretty much anything goes.

1st night of puppy in his new home =shitting through the eye of a needle for 6hrs due to being fed brewers yeast tablets. They're great you see! Used to train collies very effectively (source: the internet).

Also we're going for a raw diet eventually which is about half n half atm, but what better food than raw hake heads, and fish, bones included, 1st thing in the morning when the dog is really hungry. They only take him about an hr to eat bcos its best not to cut them up as the dog needs to get used to eating them this way! Cool eh? Queue an hr of the dog dragging in raw fish heads in and out of the house for an hr complete with blue bottles n stink as he battles with something that's way too big for him to handle so he gets bored really quickly and keeps hounding you for whatever you're eating or whats on the work surfaces while the fish sits on the stairs carpet begging for attention. MADNESS!

I'm lovin life atm can you tell? ;p

And yes it means he cares, but there comes a point when the result overrides the intent unfortunately.

Sorry adam I will delete my whining in a bit. Just needed to vent.

This is going to sound a bit like "my grandad smoked 60 a day and lived to be 109 but..."

My old dog, in my avatar, did indeed live to be 17. And he did so many 'wrong' things I'm sure a dog trainer would have had a heart attack. Did I say heart attack? Max's thing (for it was he) was margarine. Lost count of the number of tubs we took off him. But he finished at least three whole tubs on seperate occasions that we later found in the garden/bathroom etc. Chocolate? Gives your dog cancer mate. He loved chocolate.

Didn't think much of dog food. He ate our scraps every night.

And he never spent a minute on a lead. Not only this, but he took himself out for walks. He was originally someone else's dog. This person brought Max round once. He lived about three miles away, up Kilburn High Rd on the edge of Willesden. About 2 weeks after the dog had been brought round, his owner was visiting us again, but without Max. There was a bark at the door and yes, it was Max. Brought himself round. He then proceeded to do this again and again and again. One lunchtime I was eating in a restaurant on Kilburn High Rd with my gf and Max went walking past, on his way round to ours. He stank. Shagged everything in sight probably. Restaurant owner was brilliant, invited smelly dog in and gave him a bowl of water.

This is why he got given to us.

Never met a dog with more road sense. No cliff sense though. Had to rescue him from one of those in Cornwall. He thought he was a mountain goat or something. Idiot. Nearly killed us both.

I loved my dog. <3

That PUG better have a face like a smacked arse! You Sir have failed! This is a Pog thread, not a Pug thread! ;)

Also I have all of the Official Pog Collection #1 and #3, not sure about 2. Got loads of the Spider Man one's that were brought out. Also have aload of 'Poisons', they were cheap holographic ones with skulls one that every loved since they were cheap and shiny!

The Tazo's I got and still have'em in the album, not sure if I need 1 or 2 to complete the collection or if it's the Star Wars Tazo's that I need one or 2 to complete the collection.

I'd post pic's but they're all in the loft.

Knock, sorry to be a pain in the anus, but could you move the dog posts from adam's pog thread over to this one please?
