@ alasdair: My friends dog Drogo looks just like that, but his ears are a bit more floppy and he is black in colour. He is also a rescue dog.

she's a rescue so there's no way to be 100% sure but she's mostly pit-bull.

Yeah haha, I'm kinda fond of them myself, though a bit allergic, just any excuse to use that quote :D Agree on the tiny dogs part tho.

Really had to hold myself back from agreeing to take one of my mate's kittens a few weeks ago, they were absolutely the cutest things ever. Swear it woulda fit in the palm of my hand.

Anyway yes, on with the dogs :D

I used to think that but apparently dog breed DNA testing is a thing now. 8)

Costs about £50, but worth it for finding out my dog (lives with parents now due to work/house/relationship blah stuff) is a quarter Dalmation. That was a surprise.

Sweet, had no idea that was even a thing. Think I might save to get that done on Muttley when I move back to the Land of Prescott. Would love to know what he actually is. I'm thinking a Staffrador, with something else in there cos he's got this daft curly tail

edit: reminds me I was reading something a while ago about an apartment complex in the USA doing DNA testing to track down owners who were leaving dog shite in the common dog park thing or whatever.

DNA testing dog shite? Yikes. I feel like I'm thinking "Science is amazing/The world's gone crazy" every day, lately.

Wisdom Panel are the company I used but I managed to get a cheap deal of their test from amazon. I'll post some dog photos at some point, maybe.

DNA testing is often used in cases where a dog is suspected of being one of the banned breeds, either to prove it and get the dog destroyed or to protest its innocence and save it. And of course in court cases following dog attacks.
