Police: Man tried to rescue drugs from fire

LISLE, N.Y. State police in the Southern Tier say a man ran into his burning home to rescue a stash of drugs.

Now 38-year-old Leslie Manasse of Lisle faces several charges, including drug possession, drug use and obstructing firefighting operations.

State police say Manasse ran into the burning house after being told not to and returned with two small bags of marijuana and a bag with several grams of a white crystal-like substance. That bag was sent to a state lab for testing.

Lisle is 18 miles north of Binghamton.

They should have let him keep the meth, guy probably would have put the fire out on his own if they had :)
 
He has got to be one of THE DUMBEST guys on the planet...he fucked his whole life up for two SMALL bags of weed and several grams of amphetamine. Almost a candidate for the Darwin awards too :)
 
i dont blame him, whne ur a full blown addict ur not gonna sit around and let ur stash go up in house fire, your gonna get your drugs!, and who knows how badly the house was on fire at the time he went back in, if the entire house was on fire, which it was not the case, because it woulda said he came back out burned/on fire/injured, it would be a dumb move, but obviously he came back out unharmed with his stash in sight(the real mistake).
 
I would applaud this guy if it had just been weed but the meth just makes it sad in a way.
 
yeah, but he was doing the firefighters a service. He wanted to make sure his weed didn't burn, so that the firefighters wouldn't accidently get high and fuck up putting the fire out.
 
Bahahaha! I can definitely see myself doing this, although I would have the sense to put them in my pocket at least.
 
We don't really know how big the fire was, stop giving the guy shit. I would have run back into my house and done the same if I thought I could do it without much danger. My door is like right on the side it would be EASY to get in and get out. But yeah, he probably should have hidden them or grabbed some kind of personal keepsakes to say he was getting instead of just running out with the drugs in hand.

I gotta at least give this guy an A for effort.
