Man Claims Take-Out Taco Contained Drugs
November 13th, 2006

Fall River, (CBS)

It all started with tacos and a movie and allegedly ended up as a hospital trip and testing positive for drugs. It does sound strange, but one man says it happened to him. He claims the soft tacos he bought at a fast food chain contained some sort of drug.

Phillip Daggett says he grew ill after eating a soft taco he ordered from a Taco Bell on Plymouth Ave. in Fall River over the weekend.

Daggett says he began feeling very strange shortly after eating one of his tacos. He claims he suffered from stomach cramps and numbness in his mouth and lips. He says his symptoms were so intense; he was almost not able to speak properly.

Daggett says he checked another taco he bought and noticed a strange white powder in the meat.

Worried about the mysterious powder and his slurred speech, Daggett says he went to the hospital where he allegedly tested positive for opiates, a form of morphine.

Taco Bell is currently investigating Daggett's claim.

*my first one, hope the format is correct!

!

If its about drugs they dont have to check facts.

He was probably too afraid to admit to his wife/GF why he was high so he's blaming taco bell on spiking his Tacos. lol seen that b4!

=D

How do they know he was poisoned at all? Couldn't he have just taken a shitload of codeine and faked it? Or spiked his own taco. Either way, I wouldn't be complaining. :)

This type of thing is the reason drugs are not legal and the reason they won't be for a very long time. Most people know NOTHING about drugs.

What a bunch of fucking idiots. :p

opiates a form of morphine...

I'm seriously sitting here with my mouth hanging open at how utterly ignorant that is. How can this person be a journalist? What a professional idiot... I'm writing CBS about this shit, it is just WAY too irresponsible journalism and it's really sad because the layman will completely belive it.... That is the type of thing you would expect to hear a fifth grader say in a report about drugs, not a full grown adult. I'm actually embarassed for the guy who wrote this, and that's bad -- I'm embarassed that we make 'professionals' out of complete fucking morons.

first its weed in hamburgers ,now its opiates...who knows maybe they'll upgrade to meth.

Drug test for work:

"You tested positive for opium."
"Oh, I had a poppy-seed bagel."
"You also tested positive for Oxycontin and Methadone."
"Oh yeah, I stopped by Taco Bell before coming here."

lol

Yeah i agree that he's probably trying to con something here. Whether it be money from a lawsuit or a reason to fail his drug test.

My question is : what happened to the other "tainted" taco?
