When I used to go to the clinic it was open @ 6:15-7am for workers, 7am-11am for the rest of us non-working bums...used to hate it and some fam members were like "well you have to get up and get your fix every day, what's the difference?? You and I know there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE between gettin up to get dosed and gettin up to cop a bun or two ...or three, hahaha

I worked with a guy who had back surgery. That was his first tase of oxy and he jumped in with both feet. He kept running out early and was physically hooked but didn't realize it untill I described how he felt and the symptoms he had before he would have them. We were pretty close so I told him of my past heroin use and shit. I give him the name of my sub dr for when he wants to get off the pills. That's when he starts telling me about his cousin that has been on methadone for a few years and he is a useless junkie and has been on it too long. Of course the guy had a job and pretty normal life cuz of the 'done. Fast forward 7 years and my buddy has been on suboxone for 4 years now and still talks bad about his cousin on methadone. Some people will never understand why even if they are an addict too. I don talk about addiction or drugs with this guy anymore. This is why I don't tell anyone my business.

Me either. I'm thinking of switching to methadone since it's $150 cheaper a month than bupe. I'd go to a bupe doctor, but I am still trying to hide it from my parents.

Yeah man if you're going to be going to a clinic everyday anyway.. you mine as well just take methadone. The whole benefit of bupe to me is you can get it in a doctors office and a whole months supply. But, if you have to go to a clinic everyday anyway, mine as well take the full agonist.

Bupe just wouldn't work right anymore for me. I think I switched back and forth too much. $150 is a lot I would switch too. Only like 3 people know I go to the clinic I definately don't want anyone else to find out because I don't want to tell them to fuck off and mind their own shit.

^^

Yeah that's what happened to me too. I went back and forth so many times between dope and bupe that it just would not work for me anymore. So I said fuck it and got on methadone. I'm glad I did too because I feel great on it and it takes away the cravings much more than bupe ever did.

I'm still craving bad but it has only been a week and I'm gonna see the doc Monday.

Which also allows others to avoid anything other than a quick meet up every so often to get bupe. Which is still gonna be way less pricey than a methadone clinic or a sub script w/o insurance, at least if you maintain a reasonable low dosage. Of course that is the part that should scare everyone, too, because we might all have to go to a daily clinic for bupe, just like methadone, before long.

^^

Yeah i've been saying that for a while. With all the suboxone abuse going on, how much of it has flooded the streets, young kids literally starting their opiate abuse with suboxone, how easy it is to get a script from a doc and then how many people are selling their supply... I see it becoming way more regulated soon and ending up just like methadone where you can only go to a clinic for it. In the near future too.

you hit it dead on. they're trying to pass a bill in MA to allow for tighter regulations for buprenorphine therapy. Not sure exactly what changes they're trying to make cause their really broad with their description, but bottom line is the state is aware of the 'abuse' of the current system.

^ you only really need 8 for a month though. After the first 4 days, which is when I take the most, a quarter milli makes me feel fine, and thats coming off a 1.5g a day habit. I've done that cycle over 30 times. You can taper down pretty fast and youd be surprised how small of a dose is effective. Sometimes you have to split small doses into two doses a day but still

Yeah a lot of states are tinkering with legislation to tighten up the bupe laws. Within another couple years I see big changes taking place.

The methadone clinics have been trying to have it changed since the beginning....I think it will end up staying the same in most places, despite what they try to do...Just legalize drugs for Christ's sake, it will eliminate solo much bullshit!

Hmmm, I wonder exactly what they are trying to do. I remember the doctor I went to last Fall had a form in his paperwork about how the state of MA has set a limit on prescribing Suboxone at no more than 16 mg per day. I never had heard of this anywhere else, but I read it there and figured the doctor didn't just make it up. It makes me wonder how strictly they enforce the rules for it (or if there is a grandfathered-in rule for those prescribed more prior to passing the law) because I know at least 1 person who still gets 3 strips a day, but he got on it years ago, to my knowledge.

Gonna walk down to the downtown three rivers and see if I can meet somebody who knows whats up today
