Yes, another Lyrica thread, sorry guys.

Because of the speedy (yet calm and blissful) Lyrica's effects, I was wondering if some Clonidine (also known as Catapres) would help to stop the euphoria/hungry/excitement (aka speedy effects) of Lyrica.

"Clonidine has been investigated and prescribed first as an antihypertensive drug in the 1950s. It has found new uses later, including treatment of some types of neuropathic pain, opioid detoxification, sleep hyperhidrosis, and as veterinary anaesthetic drug."

Clonidine is the best drug to come down I have ever tried, with some benzos, like 0.5 mg Alprazlam or 5 mg Diazepam, it works like a charm, and keep in mind that I have a heavy benzo tolerance.

A key point of Clonidine is that it works in the opioid receptors

"It is concluded that the analgesic response to clonidine involves activation of central μ-opioid receptors in both SHR and SD rats, possibly by an endogenous opioid released by clonidine."

So, would mixing a low Lyrica dose with Naproxen (to increase bioavailability, blah blah blah) and Clonidine worth it?

Thanks in advance.

Clonidine by itself does not eliminate anything close to nearly all my withdrawal symptoms. It helps the rushes of blood pressure i get and high blood pressure as well as the sweating and hot and cold flashes but that's about it. Ive used it right alongside lyrica and gabapentin for the purpose of relieving withdrawals and it does help abit and in combination with the lyrica it increases the sedation just like it does with any other sedative.

As for boosting the effects of opiates i used to do a very dangerous and stupid practice for abit almost 2 years ago now. I used to put half of a 0.1mg clonidine pill in with my shot of morphine or dilaudid to add to the kick. It certainly adds even to the ungodly rush of dilaudid but shooting clonidine is asking for it. It's not worth the danger that's for sure.

I have tried both drugs myself, 200mg Lyrica, 0.2mg Clonidine; it doesn't enhanced the euphoria, although cuddling in the bed felt really better. Anyway, it was like 2 regular depressants at the time of sleep, and the dry mouth side effect of both drugs was really worse. Drowsiness too.

Thanks for the replies.
