Losing The Magic....help

This number will depend on the individual's body, but also the frequency with which they use.

I disagree. I think the by far the most important thing is the quality of the drug and how you are feeling at that moment.

That will affect the quality of your roll, and it's entirely condusive the good, bad, and mixed experiences we've all had on MDMA (I told a beautiful girl friend of mine that the bad roll she had the other night will teach her many things - she txted me back this morning to say I'm right :) ).

But in terms of tolerance it still makes a difference. It's still your brain (and psyche) becoming adjusted to MDMA that little bit more. Talking from a physical/medical stance it still rings true.

Hey guys I've doing x for about one year know and something has happened.....It's losing the magic. Well sure my feeling is a million times better but i never feel euphoria any more. Is it because I do it weekly and I dont let my seratonin build back or what? Also all my friends are running around and still acting crazy like the old days...I mean i do it more...well alot more but I want the magic back. I always seem like exept for running around and stuff(what my friends are doing) I want to like go home and lay down or something like that. See im never that way And i need answers. I do not use 5-htp would you guys recommend it or what? Please post alot of information, I truely need it.

You even say yourself that you are aware that when you abuse ecstasy (yes, every weekend or even every other weekend is ABUSING) you lose the magic..

Whats there to say except lay off the E for a long time..

Hopefully you can get the magic back, but seriously dude, think about the beating your liver, brain, and kidney's have taken.. not trying to scare you, but
E is only supposed to be used very rarely for a reason.

Good luck.

Take at LEAST 6 months off. If you are not getting that same high that means you are burning out or damaging your seratonin receptors, they are not producing enough of it. This is NOT a good sign.

You might find that if you take a break for a period of time that you might feel depression. you have to let your brain chemicals balance out or you are going to cause further damage. I have seen a lot of articles that show MDMA use causes brain damage and that isn't even after repeated use.

If you continue doing it every week or even ever few weeks you will run the risk of causing irreversable damage.

I have a couple friends who were heavy users of Extacy and after quitting they stay they can still feel a bit of a difference.

oh- I am not a doctor, but I have read a LOT about extacy because it is just so weird how it effects you. I won't even do it anymore because of facts I have read..

I don't mean to scare you, but stop for at least 6 months. Don't go out with friends if they are going to roll every week.

consider anti-depressants if you experience a lot of depression in the next month or so. avoid alcohol too, other depressants.

if you are going to get high I would say weed is probably a safer option for you.

Yet there are studies being done that is using MDMA as an anti-depressant. I think that we know very little about MDMA. Everyone has their personal opinion, but as far as scientific facts, there isn't much for long term use. I understand that this has been your experience, but don't try and state it as these are the facts because we don't really know yet. A lot of users will report short term depression after the use, but there is little research for long term symptoms. I look forward to seeing the test results as each study draws to an end. Check out MAPS for more information.

Have you got links to any of those articles you've talked about? I'd love to read them.

I have read several articles on erowid that say even one night of ecstasy can cause "irreversible" brain damage.

Im not taking sides here, just stating what I have read.. I have had my run ins with E, and it hasn't really done anything that bad to me mentally, I would have to say that it actually made me a lot more open-minded and down to earth..

It affects everyone differently, and theres only so much truth in the studies.. As you said, a lot about MDMA is still uncertain.

I'm not sure E "burns out serotonin receptors". Karl Jansen said he was familiar with research showing that some people who had used E more than 1000 times displayed greater serotonin levels than people who had never taken it.

But obviously you should always take a break if you arn't feeling well.

have you got any source or a link for me?

also, i actually beleive mdma doesnt deplete serotonin either, it DOES desentisize serotonin receptors

and what works to make them back sensitive?
i would say piracetam, it does bring the magic back for alot of ppl

I was reading up on that recently. I haven't "lost the magic" or anything, but I'm wondering if it will increase the roll or do anything to help with the comedown... >_<.

lots of ppl say it makes your brain less scattered making it more enjoyable and it also reduces comedown
seems to be what you are looking forµ

ketamine after a roll is also reported to reduce or even eliminate the comedown (you cant use it in combination with piracetam tough)

reading up on vitamins it does seem that VERY high doses eliminate come down and maybe even tolerance

lost the magic

please dont post the same question in every thread......MazDan

Ismene: You might have a point about "loosing the magic" being all in your head but I didnt touch pills for 6 months, decided to take one again and it was a decent pill according to most people and I truely expected to get that "wow" factor back but it was nowhere to be seen. I was fucked but there was no "wow" to it like I had first experienced, the novelty of it wears off once you've experienced it so many times. It can still be good and fun but never truely be as magic as the first few times.

True, it's simply a fundamental fact of life that the first time you do anything is the most memorable and affecting. I still remember the first time I ejaculated but I don't remember the 5000th time I ejaculated.

Do people really think any activity can possibly be as good as the first time they did it? Life doesn't work like that does it.

Longing for the magic

Yeah another thread about losing the magic, it's happened to many people. Mainly the abusers of E, but it happens to your average user eventually.

It's not placebo, you don't just suddenly stop rolling because you read it might happen on the internet, it happens when too much xtc is put through your body.

It's also very sad, now whenever I drop I feel a bit nauseous, a few tingles then I just wanna sleep...it's not the pills, because i've seen many people buzzin their tits off from just 1 of these...I can munch 6 at a time and not feel a thing. I Miss that old buzz, the loved up feelings and openness that came with it.

I've tried many things, preloading/postloading, changing my set/setting, changing people I roll with and even took a pretty big break all to no avail...

Meh, I don't even know why I put this thread here, i'm just listenin to some hardcore and it reminded me of the good old days...=( Maybe you guys could talk about losing the magic? It's a horrid thing...

There's your problem right there; hardcore is fucking terrible music.

I "lost the magic" after my first night on E, so it isn't solely the result of consuming too much/too often, although that is a surefire way to lose it. You need a break (months, not weeks mate), that's the only thing that might help. Sorry :(
