Los Zetas Plans to Overthrow Mexican Government Next Year Financed By U.S Bank....

I don't know, they COULD put them down if they so chose (just like the US could do a ton more to stem the flow of the drugs). Truth is, there's far too much vested interest in keeping the market open-enough (i know, obvious point is obvious), but i just wish they could set it up so they could run their phoney WoD w/o so much collateral damage. It's fucked in a lot of ways, but i have to say i'm not wholly opposed to the idea of the us/mx govs, in essence, 'sponsoring'/favoring one cartel, and most seem to agree they HAVE been doing that for a bit now (sinaloa cartel).
I know that of all the cartels, the zetas have a horrible reputation since they* commit far more heinous acts, and far more of a % of them are against random civilians (when "heating up the plazas", etc). The problem though is the zetas seem to be having more of a surge in their operations, although the very fact that i can post that may just mean they're getting caught more..
*=when i say "they", that's just based on what you can find out via the news, and there's no shortage of incidents where an incident "supposedly" was committed by cartel X, when pretty much everyone knows it was cartel Y.

Damn, we really need some new rules in CEP/DITM that tightens up the standards for wat can be considered a "source." Its always the same couple muhfuckas in here that come in reposting blog posts from "I Just Make Shit Up And Speculate and Dont Post Any Sources For My Info" type people and acting like its a legitimate article.

It aint even that I got a problem with the CONTENT. I really dont care WTF it SAYS in the OP. It aint that I "got the blinders on and refuse to open my eyes to the bla bla bla bla...." It aint none of that shit that people always say, that if you call em out on their conspiracy shit they be like "they got you fooled too!" Na, it aint none of that. Its just that I dont really want to waste my time reading a so called "article" that aint nothing more than a blog rant, with absolutely nothin to back it up, no sources, no links to the relevant information. Just basically "I am gonna write my personal opinion here and claim its news."

If this guy was sayin the same shit but could actually back it up and provide sources and other information that put a lil bit of weight behind his words, Id be fine with it. But I aint gonna waste the time of day reading and believing this type of Weekly World News shit. step your game up yall. Blog posts aint news articles. we gotta have some standards here yo, and you cant expect nobody to take the shit you sayin seriously when you cant provide legitimate sources for it.

to be fair, most of the 'factual' stuff (wachovia handling the $ via the local cash centers in mx, the coke-plane, etc) are accurate, it's the wild-ass conclusions ppl draw that're suspect, to say the least.

but i agree with you, i've thought of that a bit lately. i don't think there's anything wrong w/ posting blogs per se, but just like you i get upset when i mess up and read for minutes b4 realizing i'm reading a WoD equivalent of alex jones. it'd be cool if we had a standard of typing the source in the beginning of the 1st post, instead of the general "click to source to see what it is"; ex. "Article title (msnbc; fox; john doe's blog, etc)".
((was also thinking it'd be completely boss if we could up/down vote either users, articles, posts, or all 3, but i don't think vbulletin does that..))
((EDIT: it's not the biggest deal in the end, since the discussions frequently become better than the articles anyways, but still it's annoying to even give page clicks to some of these sites, merely to find out who wrote the piece))

If this gets validated it'll be iran-contra all over again, maybe(probably) even bigger. The mx feds busted/extradited him, i'm pretty surprised he didn't "escape" custody once he was in our control ;P

who else posted anything on a blog? j/w...

there's a lot of suspect things about the WoD that are worthy of conspiracy nature... Iran contra, protecting Afghan poppies, increased heroin supply, ATF gunrunning scandal. The fact several zetas were trained by the US military in Ft Bragg, NC to be 'narcotics agents' several decades back just stinks like pure shit... Then we have sinaloas testifying this in federal court which only makes matters more interesting...

The fact street prices in cocaine are nearly the same as any city withinin the US in the Mexico border region should be a big red flag, when mexican schwag prices in the same region are only about 1/3 of regions just north of border patrol interior checkpoints (and obviously more even further along, but I mean just within a few hundred miles past the price basically triples...) I find the price thing interesting because you figure theoretically speaking if cocaine was trafficked the same routes as the weed (which for the record it is...), then the price would also go up dramatically past these interior checkpoints which have literally become interior borders, with about 100 US customs, DHS, USBP agents and K9's, like 1000 cameras from all angles, (facing north and southbound traffic), X-rays... I wish I was lying these things are like out of a sci-fi movie.

I find the price thing really, really bizarre. It almost suggests cocaine doesn't travel through the same checkpoints weed does. The only logical conclusion is that perhaps because less pounds of cocaine are needed than marijuana, it can be (and is being) flown in, vs driven. There are no checkpoints in the air, only getting on the plane, which theoretically government wouldn't have problem with that clearance...

Cant compare weed and coke in the least, regs (which is mostly from Mexico) hasnt been making its way to NYC in quantities as it used to by far. It is alot easier to get high grade domestically grown weed than regualr outdoor Mexican schwag brick weed. It hasnt been coming through the way it used to thats for sure. Its alot easier to smuggle white powder than bulky compressed bricks of buds that have a way less value. If youre gunna get busted smuggling it might as well be for high priced coke than dirty schwag weed.

The items smuggled into the country from Fort Worth allegedly include grenades, grenade launchers, antiaircraft missiles, body armor, radios, GPS devices, night vision binoculars, and other items.
if we legalized drugs, and applied all of that law enforcement capability on weapons and victim crimes... the drug war is disastrous by any measure.

But that wouldn't explain why schwag from mexico in the border regions (between the DHS/Customs/BP interior checkpoints & the border) is only 1/3 the price it is in say.. Houston.

Cocaine is almost the same price, on both sides of the checkpoints, in just about every major US city. You figure if cocaine was trafficked from Mexico via the same routes as schwag (schwag only comes from Mexico), the prices would be much less in the border regions. But it's not...

But like you said, it doesnt travel through the same checkpoints

Cocaine is also flooding the market, coming from Dominican Republic, Haiti and other countries. Hots spots are in California, Florida, Arizona and a few other border states like said. Its not just coming through Mexico so the supply and demand issue isnt affecting prices like it would in that type of scenario. Economic times are hard so everyone wants the similar going rate for their kilos and dont want to take a pay cut like in the past during the 90s and early 2000 when prices dropped and varied dramitcally.
