Loperimide

I was wondering:

Does anyone else have any firsthand evidence that this stuff is a w/d wonder? I know its worked for Kapheen and many others, but its one of those things where I'd like more verification. I am trying to quit Heroin and I used abotu 12 mg today and felt that it did indeed do something. I am thinking about getting the 96 pills at Walgreens for 15 bucks (is that the ultimate deal everyone speaks of? ).

If anyone has used this, please specify your procedure, including dosage and frequency of doses, etc.

Thanks

I have used Loperimide for mild Opiate withdrawal symptoms, and it really worked wonders. I have used doses of around 6-12mgs. I don't know how well it would work for more severe withdrawal, but it did stop my nagging cravings, restlessness, anxiety, aching bones, etc.. To be quite honest, it did provide somewhat of an Opioid high. There wasn't any real euphoria involved, but it did make me feel pleasant and relaxed. On 12mgs, I can say I definitely like the feeling better than that from Propoxyphene. My girlfriend thought this whole thing was ridiculous, so I told her to take about 8mgs of it before she tells me I'm crazy. She actually got fucked up, though she's a lightweight, and she also said she liked it better than Propoxyphene. This all came up because I had Darvocet 100's in my possesion, and she wanted one. She was surprised that I took the Loperimide instead, and I just told her I really hate Darvocets. I don't want anyone to get the impression that I'm saying Loperimide is a good Opioid to get high on even if you don't have anything else, but it may be worth the experiment if you don't have an Opioid tolerance but are accustomed to their effects. It's down at the bottom of my Opiate/Opioid chart, and the only things lower than it are Propoxyphene and as much as people may think I'm messed up for this one, Methadone. I really hate that drug as well.

^^ ridiculous!

what opioids have you done, and to what extent, that qualifies your response? you put methadone below lopermide? you got 'high' from lopermide?

that is some silly ass shit.

And how exactly were you able to get this drug to pass the BBB?? I'm just curious. Because with out doing that you won't be able to get euphoric results from this drug.

That's the thing.. I really don't have any logical explanation as to why I got effects. However, if it doesn't have any effect on the brain, then how does it have a positive effect on Opiate withdrawal? It has to enter in some way, even if it is very inefficient. Maybe some people have a chemistry that allows a certain degree the chemical to get through. I don't know, but it was not placebo.

Well then consider yourself lucky...because I can't get high off loperamide. It would be nice to find an efficient BBB though!

I tried the Quinine trick about 6 months ago twice when I heard about it from Negrogesic. Didn't work for shit either times. It doesn't help pass the BBB that simple.

BTW: Is someone on this board talking about getting high on lopermide? If so, that is ridiculous. Unless that person can explain their procedure to pass the BBB with this anti-Diarrhea medication. If you cant, you are prone to placebo more than anyone I have ever known. It works very good for withdrawals but not to get high off.

you love codeine, hate methadone and get high on lopermide. how exactly did 'done make you detox? that's almost as good as you getting high on lopermide.

my feeling is that you're a bit of a control freak, and prefer a very light buzz to actually getting high, so you can stay 'in control'. nothing wrong with that, but it explains a lot.

i'm not going to argue with you about drugs. but, i think that you are a little off-centered, if you know what i mean.

It was not placebo at all.. I'm not saying I got a really nice high from it, but the effects were definitely noticable and mildly pleasureable. I am very accustomed to Opiates/Opioids. I have used Codeine, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Morphine (all, many times), I have used Hydromorphone twice, once insufflated (4mgs), and once IV (4mgs, and that was truely amazing), I have used Heroin around five times, three of which I had obtained very high quality stuff (both insufflated and IV), I have had Fentanyl (patches and IV in the hospital), I have used Propoxyphene enough times to know I hate it, I've used Tramadol, and I tried Methadone once (20mgs) and absolutely hated it. I hated Methadone because the feeling was very strong, but there was no euphoria. The feeling just wasn't "good" to me, and it made me detox for two days strong, and I was feeling it for three days after I took it. The feeling of Loperimide was similar to that of Fentanyl/Methadone, but it was very mild, so I enjoyed it for the most part. I have also smoked Opium and I've drank Poppy tea.

If I were to rate these drugs, my list would be like:

1. Hydromorphone (IV)
2. Heroin (IV)
3. Oxycodone (nasally)
4. Oxycodone and Hydrocodone (orally; I normally prefer Oxycodone)
5. Heroin (nasally)
6. Codeine (I really love Codeine, and depending on my mood, I like it better than those listed above)
7. Morphine (IV or orally)
8. Fentanyl
9. Tramadol
10. Loperimide
12. Propoxyphene (dislike)
13. Methadone (extremely dislike)

naturalone, you may be somewhat right but not completely. Believe me.. I LOVE getting very high on Opiates/Opioids. There are just certain feelings that I prefer more than others. However, the control thing deals with addiction. I have had a problem with OxyContin in the past, and I don't ever want to be back where I was with it or any other drug like it.

I want to stress the point one more time that I didn't really get "high" on Loperimide. However, I DID feel something, and that something was mildly pleasurable. I know it was there because from what I read, I had it set in my mind that it was a worthless Opioid to try to get high from. I remember being surprised that I felt something at all.

As far as Methadone, I cannot really make a final judgement, as I have only used it once. Though, from what I can remember, I didn't like the feeling much because it seemed to be quite strong, but it failed to give me any rush of euphoria (the whole reason I enjoy Opiates/Opioids).

Gotta be placebo. You shouldn't feel anything at all except the relief of diarrhea, or the relief of opioid w/ds but no mental effects.

I will also promise you that any opioid addict would prefer propoxyphene and methadone over loperimide. Even if propoxyphene is a shitty ass drug, it will produce more effects than loperimide.

Propoxyphene does produce more effects than Loperimide, but I hate the way it makes me feel. Just because an Opiate/Opioid is strong doesn't mean it's good to me. I have been experimenting with Kratom lately, and I can honestly say it's on the top of my Opiate chart, though it isn't even an Opiate. I like it better than Poppy tea..

There are plenty accounts of first hand experiences using loperamide to help withdrawals. I have used it myself and it does help. Of course you will still feel like shit, but helps the physical withdrawal.......

the neverending debate...

As Negro has pointed out it is possible to cross the BBB with assistance. He is right in mentioning piggybacking it on polysorbate nano particles but it would have to be injected directly into the brain...something that pretty much renders it a no-go.

Now the good news:It has been shown to alleviate withdrawal symptoms in morphine dependant monkeys so it is pretty much a given that SOME folks will find that it eases their withdrawal discomfort.

About the individual who claimed to "feel" Loperamide...The only way to feel it [short of the descibed procedure I mentioned above] would be to take it while suffering infectious meningitis. This condition allows the drug to cross over pretty much unassisted. It is safe to assume that you benefitted from a placebo effect.Other than that, only children under the age of 3 [usually under 2] can achieve the effect in question.

Quinine as a potentiator for Loperamide [yes, yet another thread about it]...

As in the last thread...Quinine CAN potentiate it but at dosages far exceeding levels deemed safe for human consumption.By the time one was to achieve the desired level of quinine [to gain the benefit of Loperamide] they would suffer toxic reactions from quinine poisoning.

YES, indeed, 1600 mg Quinine can cause such a hard Mydriasis, that you can get blind.... And you dont hear anything for days.....

But: Quinine is accumulating: If you take 800 mg, then next day 800 mg, and next day again, then the level is reached; also, you have a quinine tolerance and nearly no Mydiasis....

Then Loperamide is comig: BUT: LOPERAMID his a racemate: Is has a Levo- and a Dextro-Enantiomer....

The first goes to the MY- and the KAPPA-Receptors, the latter to the feared SIGMA-Receptors.... YOU CAN - which is very seldom - get not only a poppy-tea like turn (I had it about to dozend times) - but also a DXM like very bad trip (I had it twice....): I saw massive genocides and had a big feeling of pure desperateness.....

So be carefully..... Loperamide can be very evil in a SIGMA-Like Plateau..... 8o

what kind of safety levels for daily loperamide are we talking about. I know kapheen has taken some unreal high doses, and recently, I have taken some pretty high doses (around the 12mg-20mg a day)...anyone have any safety data for high doses?

That's a question of MY-Opioid-Receptor-Tollerance....

If your tollarance is not very high, you might get with 20-24 mg an paralythical Ileus, which can end with surgery or death.

Sorry, the first ^^^ sentence I don't understand. What does that mean...

Also, at what dose does paralytic ileus typically occur? BTW, I'm not sure how opiate tolerance plays into this but my opiate tolerance wasn't extremely high; I was coming off approx 100mg oxy or equiv. daily with a 3 week clean period and 8 or so years of nonstop use, oftentimes at doses above 200mg.
