I just wanted to share what hell I went through and see if it was unique. I’ve been taking Oxys for just over 2 years due to back pain. Started with Percocet and then 10mg Oxy. I was up to 400 pills 10mg, a month. I have know. My Dr for decades and she knew how much pain I was in. My pain isn’t fixed but I couldn’t keep taking opioids for multiple reasons.
So I have this really good pain Dr and he sees people like me all the time. He prescribed me Gabapentin and clonidine and suboxone. He told me to stop the oxys and wait 24 hours then take suboxone.
I knew this wasn’t going to be easy, yet the longest I ever went without was maybe 6 hours. So I started at 9am and actually slept quite a bit. I work nights and 9am is my 2am.
I woke up at around noon and my legs wouldn’t stop moving. I was constantly sitting up and laying down. If I focused I could stop the moving to small distances but it was beyond my control. Of course I couldn’t sleep and I was frustrated by that. I was also high from something. Like an out of it high. A long time ago I took too many over the counter sleeping pills by accident and went on this fucked up trip where I didn’t know up from down and was talking about weird shit. This feeling was kinda like that.
All that pretty much stayed the same until around 3 am when my legs and my tossing started to calm down. I was able to sleep. I’m taking this med for overactive bladder and it drys me out badly. Major dry mouth. I skipped that days dose but fuck me I had dry mouth and still do. I drank 4 litres of water through the day and night.
At 9am I took the suboxone and it didn’t really do much as the moving was almost done. It’s now 11pm and I’m coming around. I actually drove and went to the store but I’m still feeling “out of it”. Maybe that’s the suboxone “high” that people say. I work at a shelter and I recently had a guy who was taking suboxone yet wasn’t using opioids and just lied while he was in jail. So I guess some people find it “fun”.
Anyways, does anyone else ever have an experience like that or heard of someone. I know restless leg is a symptom on some lists, but this was like restless leg level 1000. And the feeling high is not a symptom I seem to expect.
Thanks
