Hi all! I am actually a big chicken and am trying to learn one of life's little lessons. I amn a writer, but lack the courage to express myself for all the world to see, so I thought behind the anonimity of the this incedible forum, I would see what people think. I hope you enjoy!
I have emerged from a world of sloth and greed,
Controlled by fear and hate,
My soul burdened by the ignorance,
Of a society blinded by Big Mac’s and Prada,
Gorged in the ideology of idiot savant’s,
Capable and destined to subdue the free spirit and mind,
At the touch of a button,
Or the resounding pound of a gavel,
Insanity delivered through the medical genius,
And a subtle needle prick,
Hoping to cure those sick of mind,
But they are not sick,
Merely different,
Refusing to share in the same blindness that the rest of us,
So easily adhere to without asking the ever obvious questions,
In spite of the rebellions which created our great democracies,
We seek to shelter and destroy those with a different view,
Hoping to maintain the status quo,
There is no shame in rebellion,
For one man’s rebellion is,
Another man’s question,
I have emerged from nothing,
For I hide behind the fear which ensures that I never,
Show the world that I am different,
That I am unlike the others,
Believing for a moment,
That it is the free spirit and mind,
Which will forever distinguish us,
From animals,
I have emerged from the world of sloth, greed, fear and hate,
Only to perpetuate it,
By refusing to allow others in.

Twilights Peak
Jumbled thoughts run through my mind,
In a way like I’ve never known before,
No analysis or reflection,
Will ever be able to give me an answer,
For the gift that I have been granted,
A beauty unsurpassed,
Your spirit filled with the vigor of one determined,
Your intelligence serving you to get you where you want to go,
A physical beauty which is only transcended by the intellectual and spiritual one,
And I am left breathless as confusion surrounds me.
Tomorrow will always come,
And I feel as if you will be there,
As you have been all my life,
The embodiment of all my wishes and desires,
For a life I want to build,
Tomorrow will always come,
And I hope that you will stay,
Because tomorrow will always be better than yesterday,
For it will be another day spent with you,
Yet for now,
Today is more than enough.
I must thank you in advance,
For all the things that you are to me,
All the things you have and will do,
My thanks will never be enough,
So for now,
Accept these humble thank yous,
Remembering that I will not forget,
The treasured gift that I have been granted,
Thank you.
Peace and Love

Life Hunter, some of us around here can appreciate writing skills...
But your work is better suited to the Words Forum.

Your words flow beautifully and are thought provoking. Your first poem reflects many of the thoughts I've felt but never been able to articulate...thank you.
A beauty unsurpassed,
Your spirit filled with the vigor of one determined,
Your intelligence serving you to get you where you want to go,
A physical beauty which is only transcended by the intellectual and spiritual one,
these words shine on my screen with love and admiration (as does the whole poem). It is magical to find someone who possesses all the qualities we esteem.

Just thoughts! Thank you for your kind words...
In the wings I wait,
Hoping that one day you will arrive,
But with the impatience of a child I chase you,
Every which way I turn,
Hoping that you might be there,
Beating my soul,
In the moment that we meet,
Allowing me to nourish your soul,
With the fruits of my love for you,
Which have developed since my birth,
That I might for that moment be content,
No longer with the idea of you,
But to actually hold you,
Caress you,
Simply be held in your arms.
I await with breathless anticipation that day,
Where you come to me,
Whether I have known you in the past,
Or we are yet to meet,
I await the time that our lips first meet,
As we realize that this is a love which is meant to be,
While developing over time,
It begins with that simple wish,
That rests in the idea of each of us,
Since the respective days we were born,
In the wings I wait.
Peace and Love
