Let's Talk Craft Beer

I think it's in their winter variety pack. You may be able to special order it. I have seen it on tap at a bar. I first tried it on the brew tour I did last month at the Windsor location

^ Yea, Ruination is pretty good too. I don't think I have ever had a bad beer from Stone Brewery though.

Have you had any of the Enjoy By's? Those are great beers....Always kept in back at the stores here.

I've had good beer overload the past few weeks. Went to Dark Lord Day last weekend and picked up a case of Zombie Dust and a few various bombers. Founder's Double Trouble is easy to come by. Have to love spring/early summer.

Cheers all.

Just a blue moon agave nectar ale for me right now nothing too crazy. first 6 pack I could not trade the agave but I feel like after drinking it more my pallet has adapted and now I'm able to mildly taste it!

^ Thanks for the correction.

I must hve misred what you wrote, not trying to Correct people about beer!

I can't get any of those beers out here.....Actually I could probably get the 22oz bottles, but those are expensive.....I prefer a six pack!

I really like the two IPA's of theirs I tried. They've got some strong ones, and you can't even tell by the taste that they have that much alcohol in them, which led to me getting drunker than planned the time that I had it on draft at a bar. I don't know which one it was now since it's no longer on the current draft menu on the website, but when I checked the site at the time when it was still being served I saw it had an alcohol percentage in the 9's.

Doh! I just realized that I'm talking about the Enjoy By IPA that KingFlyy was referring to. That makes since because it said on the menu board at the bar that it was only there until April 1st. It was listed at 9.4% ABV and I was there during happy hour so was getting them for half price, so with them being cheap and not tasting as strong as they were, I put back 5 or 6 pretty quickly then went out to cause some trouble.

I like the 6%-7% range...There's some really delicious ales in that range that can really sneak up on me quick! Last summer, I was really overdoing it....Now, if I drink beer, I'll keep it around 6, if I buy two 6 packs, I'll definitely end up finishing them!

If I go to a bar that has a bunch of string ales on tap, I'll be in trouble if I stay much longer than 2 hours!

^^^You want to talk about cheap American lagers!^^^ I don't even know if they make this shit anymore, but when I was like 15-16 years old we use to get Coors Extra Gold all the time. Get a 30 rack at a local liquor store for like 14.99(BTW in case you think that isn't cheap, in MA where I am from a 30 of Bud/Coors/Miller is at least 20). So thats how we know it was good. The box was black and the can black with gold trim. The stuff was worth its price taste-wise, but we spent a whole damn Summer primarily drinking it. I also broke my nose in a mosh pit while on a bunch of k-pins that Summer so I was Rx'd lots of Vics and T3s, along with the abundance of k-pins around it was suffice to say a very enjoyable Summer.

Anyone on here tried the Real Ale Coffee Porter? It's only available during the fall so you can get some right now. Real Ale is a Central Texas brewery and they produce some very good stuff. I dont know what their national presence is like, i imagine it would not be obtainable outside of Texas and maybe states bordering Texas. However, a bar or store could easily order some and have it shipped anywhere. So how bout it, anyone ever had a Real Ale? They have a Brown Ale, a wheat beer similar to blue moon, a pale ale and they put out seasonal beers that usually rock. Last week i tried their Devil's Backbone, it is a Belgian-style tripel. Its super dank and i believe pretty high in alcohol content since it is a tripel. Yep just checked the website, it is 8.1% They are the makers of Fireman's 4 which is another staple Texas beer. they have a bunch more varieties, check em out if you are in Texas.

I've been drinking Double Bastard by Stone Brewing Co.

You gotta be careful with it though because it's over 11% alcohol.

^Yeah, I had a few of those over the holidays...be careful is the truth, better of sipping the 8 oz glasses with that shit...2-3 full pints and you're well on your way to being completely wasted!

It's strange, I drank too 6 packs of strong IPAs the other night, they weren't doubles, it was the regular Stone IPA for the first 6 pack, and then I went back and bought a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada "Celebration", which is a "fresh hop IPA" or whatever...I drank them over the course of 8-9 hours, went to sleep, woke up yesterday at noon after going to bed at 5 AM...Man the first hour I felt a little shitty, but all of the sudden I started puking, I couldn't hold anything down...It was like a delayed hangover!

I really think there's something about too much of the hop oil, or whatever the fuck it is, because the only time that ever happens to me is when I over-do it with some of the really heavily hopped IPA...even hard liquor doesn't usually do that to me, but Im definitely a beer guy..

^ That's pretty weird, but now that I think about it there's been a few times where I thought I was alright and I ended up being hungover all day.

Just bought Breakfast Stout from Founders Brewing. It's one of the top rated beers on Beer Advocate. It's more of a desert type beer.

I also got some Sweetwater Festive Ale which is one of my favorites.
