Leaving for Iraq

Anyone remember ol red? I smile like this :\ ...

Anyhow before I left this place, I was talking about joining the military... that I did. I'm now enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Stationed down here in sunny 29 palms CA. Pretty much the middle of god damned no where, in the middle of the fucking mojave desert. Balls suckage? Yes. Good training for where I'm headed? Absolutely, the best they have to offer.

There is a reason this is one of the best units in the Marine Corps. We train harder than anyone, period.

Anyways, I'm leaving for that big sandbox in a month or so to play with ali baba. I just wanted to drop through and see old faces, talk to a few of em maybe.

Crazy world eh? It's a little scary to think about.
 
i have SO much respect for you and everyone else who is/has headed over there. you're much braver and stronger than the average person.

i'll be thinking about you.

srlsy, i love military men, we are a military family. 10 yrs, eod and national guard.

good luck guy, and be safe. don't forget you actually are ordered to not abide by dictates that aren't honorable. be a good soldier. and again, stay safe.

I don't know you, but I pray that God will be with you and keep you safe. You are brave for becoming a soldier in these times. I would like to commend and thank you for that courage.

As for those who call me a tool, I'm not doing this for my country or the president or to liberate iraq or any bullshit like that. I'm doing it for myself, for my family and all those I care about. Fuck reasons and fuck any cause. I'm doing to for me.
