LBJ big decision in more ways than 1

Not too bring up a game from SEVEN years ago, but any half intellegent sports fan can watch the replay over and over again and see that the Miami defender had a handful of Chris Gamble's jersey in the Ohio State NC game. Hand it not been for some very favorable Miami calls earlier in the game it would have never gone to overtime. Besides, after the call, Ohio State scored on two straight possessions, Miami had another chance but sucked it up.

But hey I didn't bring it up did I?

umm, no I don't even really watch the nba. As I said, I wasn't the one who brought a college football game up from seven years ago. It was a poster named something like 3,4 dihydroxiphine. He is the one that is still angry about Miami losing to Ohio State. I was simply defending my team when someone spews off some nonsense about them.

Who is Ilgauskas? I thought this original thread was about Lebron James???

Actually it was a poster named seep who brought it up. And it was one of the worst calls in college football history. I'm not even going to go into that game. But this is indeed karma. Bitches.

sad statement? as always, I think you need to expand on your thoughts.

do you think that LBJ can touch Jordan's legacy? even myself, a once huge (and now moderate) LBJ fan realizes that playing with Wade and Bosh dramatically decreases his super-stardom. even if he wins NBA Titles for the next five years straight, Jordan's legacy is still his own.

playing with this automatic championship caliber team is not a treat for myself, a huge basketball fan. at least with Chicago or New York the set-ups are inherently different.

as a conspiracy theory enthusiast, I think the Miami-Ohio State talk is pretty far out. so much happened in that epic National Championship, to narrow it down to one bad call is absurd. that great game was an exercise in banality, with Maurice Clarett's downfall the icing on the post-National Championship cake.

Miami has experienced some greatness after the Fiesta Bowl. usually Miami teams are my number twos, but there really has been nothing to root for concerning the Hurricanes. Larry Coker, a once great coach - gone; and not even competing in the dismal ACC could save the Canes.

Ohio, has always had some dismal sports luck since the 60s, but Ohio State has always been the breath of fresh championship air. the crux of my argument is that Ohio State and their sports fortune should always be a separate entity from the misfortune of Ohio professional sports

It doesn't seem to matter what I say, you have it forever screwed into your head it was a bad call. It's also silly of you to assume that every Buckeye fan is a cavs fan and is pissed about what happened. I don't really care that LBJ left. I like Cincinnati teams anyways. But maybe it is karma in your brain. And in that case, it will be karma again when Ohio State beats Miami "we can't even sell out against Oklahoma" University yet again in September;)

that's what I was trying to say, smotpoker, is that is is absurd to assume Buckeyes fans and Cleveland/Cinci fans are even somewhat the same (although more eloquently). it's hilarious to think that Canes fan are still butthurt over the Fiesta Bowl game, when the Buckeyes outplayed them in all aspects of the game (fwiw - I doubt Miami would have lost if Willis McGahee had not been injured). Jim Sorgi and the "Soldier Boy" at Tight End proved to be dreadfully over rated. and those were the days that the Buckeyes flat out hurt people on defense.

word has it around Cleveland that LeBron James killed Harvey Pekar :(

Part of being a Canes fan is being eternally vengeful. Even from events that happened before our time. 2003 Fiesta Bowl, 1992 Notre Dame, the Gator Flop, the list goes on. Being pissed off and never forgetting the past is kind of our thing.

the Lyndon B. Johnson decision to enter Vietnam is a big decision, in more ways than one ;)

you all are lucky I don't really mind if the conversation goes astray. most mods would have already closed the thread once we started talking about college football, and then President LBJ. however, some good topics by some intelligent posters are being generated. therefore I don't mind at all

LBJ more escalated it, amirite? I'd say JFK made the initial commitment with special forces or cia or whatnot. and thanks for lettin the convo go astray, its so much more enjoyable for me this way %)

The comment was about how you've gone from "LEBRON WILL BE THE BEST EVER!" to "Well, at least Michael Jordan will still be on top." (though Kobe still has a good shot at surpassing him in rings :D)

To have to resign yourself to this fact is simply sad Axl. I'm bummed for you and all the energy you put into propping up Lebron as this almighty beast of a player who would someday be better than Kobe, maybe MJ even. Now I don't think you can even say he'll be better than Kobe in the long run with the path he's chosen. It's a bummer it had to be this way.

Down here in Miami I don't think any of us give a shit how LeBron, Wade, and Bosh will be regarded. All we care about is that the Miami Heat will likely be considered the best team in the history of basketball from 2010-2016. If I were one of these guys, I would rather be a major part of the greatest team and dynasty of all time than the greatest player of all time. Wouldn't you?
