what a horrible movie! i had to turn it off half way through

agreed. this was a steaming pile.

i was really looking forward to someone resurrecting the ailen franchise. but maybe not anymore.

Kubrick's Lolita. Great movie. Peter Sellers is one of the greatest actors of his or any generation. I'd put him just below Brando. He shoulda got waaay more screen time, but this was just like a glimpse of the utter brilliance that would follow in Dr. Strangelove. God Sue Lyon is a hot little vixen. James Mason was lukewarm. The script was solid. I can't believe they got this past the censors in 1962. Ridiculous. I love it.

Memento

I remember being much more impressed the first time I saw this. :\

Seeing it the first time is like seeing it 5 times anyways.

War of the Worlds The new one. I liked it, adding in the girl was fine but they should have left his son out, what a douche. I thought it progessed to fast too. They shouldn't have had the machines already burried but crash there like in the book.

25th Hour.

I had been wanting to see this film since I first saw a preview years ago but only just got around to it. It was worth the wait.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire (for like the 5th time already) saw it today on DVD with a friend of mine. Pretty cool movie, we did manage to find some hidden messages through out the movie that people mainly wound'nt have noticed.

It's based on the life of Frances Farmer, tho much of the film is said to be fabricated. Regardless of what's true or false I really enjoyed it. Tho in all honesty it was Jessica Lange's captivating portrayal of Farmer that made the film what it was. I found myself rooting for her throughout the entire film, even tho I knew the story wouldn't have a happy ending. I also found myself peeking through my fingers in horror at certain points because I was too afraid to see what was going to happen. I was gritting my teeth and wincing at the thought of everything that poor woman went through. What a messed up situation!. :X

I now find myself interested in both Lange and Farmer, and I'll seek out more of their films and check out the Farmer case in more detail.

Yep. I wasn't very impressed with Joaquin Phoenix's performance either. I mean, it was alright, but nothing sensational. And Reese Witherspoon kept cracking me up with that southern screech of hers. I can't look at her in a serious way ever since I saw her in Freeway (which she was great in btw). "Do you wanna get shot a whole buncha times?!". Too funny.
