I enjoy reading some of Oceanboys posts. Sure they might not make sense to me for the most part, but they make me smile! Seems like a nice happy chap!

But anyways O-boy preaching at people isn't going to change thier views. I find that it only serves to piss them off, make them laugh or drive them away for the most part! While your intentions might be good your methods need some work :) A good teacher is an example for thier students to follow.

Frederick Nietzsche - he has many titles. Poet, philosopher, deconstructionlist (rewrite history for his needs).

Now you've got the opportunity to present every theory and soul saving argument you could possibly want so bring that shit on.... enlighten us - but also please note the barrage of intelligent response that opened directly after your 'enlightening' posts that imho - completely trashed any opinion you could care to give, and the funniest thing is, you were drummed off the stand purely by pointing out that everything you say has absolutely no continuation or consistent factual merit.

I think this thread will quite quickly float away into the ether, but due to the massive amount of effort you've obviously put into every 'present' you bestow upon the bluelight community in the form of your "witty, intelligent, consistent and thought provoking" posts, I just wanted to add:

Save a little face... preach to us if you like, but get a fucking clue and do it consistently.

I just want to say....I don't know why people find it so important to belittle Oceanboy...sure, he's got views that are unpopular, but he at no point has tried to fuck anybody up.

This is why I told Kits I have so mush respect for what she did when she spoke out in this thread...because, while disagreeing with Oceanboy's point of view,she still respected his stance completely.

You know, ultimately if the whole world acted like Oceanboy wants it to, we'd be a lot better off. There'd be a lot more respect for your fellow human being, and I suspect a lot less needless harassment and bullying for being different. Most of us (myself included) are too cynical for that to work though, and so there are people who react to his ideas by attacking HIM.

This, in my opinion, is bullshit. All he wants if for people to love one another. Maybe because of our own issues we can't do that completely. But why attack HIM for being able to?

I dunno,maybe I'm just drunk and being stupid....I just think we live in a fucked up world when somebody gets shit piled on him because he dislikes that the rest of the world finds pleasure in the discomfort and pain of others....

Raz, i was about to say the same thing. Ben Elton ( the guy who wrote HIGH SOCIETY) has a book called Popcorn.

And this thread demonstrats one of the main things that is highligheted in Popcorn. In a nutshell - a character is live on TV and says he is gonig to shoot someone live, he says he wont do it if the ratings go down. In-evitably the ratings go up and he shoots her.

Ironic, a paradox, catch 22 whatever you want to call it.

But even as the 'Elitists and Intelligent Bluelights (as SLM mentioned ((and i agree we are elitist and intelligent;)))).....non of us wh posted here completly ignored the thread and posting. Haste almost resisted, but added his two cents with his jaded comment.

However - I disagree with you Raz in the sense that Oceanboy isn't fucking us around. Not in a direct and agressive way, but in a way that supports a mentality that is ...... [ i really cant think of the word, but ill post it later]..

And that does annoy me. As i mentioned before i dont beleive that Oceanboys thoughts are the product of an intelligent and independant mind. This opens a whole new can of worms, because the definition of independable and intelligent minds is very subjective. The whole concept of our morals, what do and dont like is open slate.

Been a nice discussion though.

Oceanboy- I respect your desire to make the world around you a better place, however if your method is to cajole people into coming around to you view then you are bound to fail. The worst kind of facist's are the one's who truly believe that they have a mission to make the world a better place. The Nazi's thought they were making the world a better place too, remember. If you were truly following the way of non-violence then you would understand that by imposing your views you, too, are commiting acts of violence. The misgivings of others should not be source of discontent, maybe you would be better off to channel such emotions into cultivating a sense of compassion for those who do not understand the importance of kind words as you do.

Personally I believe that the human race is going somewhere like a train, it cannot be diverted from its tracks unless it derails. Everybody everywhere is playing their part, from the pornographer to the holy-man, in the end we are all creating the same thing. It puts me in mind of Shiva the Destroyer, who is invariably depicted as a smiling goddess dancing on the broken bones and tortured souls of humanity. At first glance it all seems quite gruesome, the smiling goddess seemingly indifferent to the suffering of the world. But on reflection one begins to understand that she smiles because she sees the bigger picture, that life and death, pain and suffering, are all part of the fractal tapestry that is the human experience which exists outside of time.

So people can't really be expected to simply better themselves and stop being so aggressive, they are simply dancing the dance, life is about learning. How is one supposed to learn if one does not make mistakes? Maybe you should spend less time worrying about the actions of others and focus upon yourself and the impact YOU have on the world. You can't change other people, the responsibilty for change lies squarely upon one's own shoulders, all you can do is better your own actions and hope that they act as an example to others.
