Bluelighter
I searched on Bluelight for some answers about this, and I was able to find this helpful thread. However, it didn't answer all of my questions and made me a bit more confused about my question. One in particular is if this drug found in Vick's inhalers (in the U.S. at least, they removed it from the Vick's inhalers in Australia and possibly other places as well) is able to cross the BBB. The majority of people were claiming that it does in fact cross it while others were saying it doesn't, so would any of you be able to give me a definite answer and be able to provide sources?
I began wondering this even before I knew l-methamphetamine was in the Vick's inhaler because I had bought one last week when I was sick, and I used it yesterday because I was doing mephedrone, and I know how well that works with both MDMA and mephedrone (and more than likely other stimulants) to give you a momentary boost of the high. Throughout my entire session with the mephedrone, I was inhaling it through my nose, but I was nowhere near how strong I was inhaling it after I did my last line of the mephedrone. I was also smoking spice (jwh infused "incense") and took 6 mg etizolam (i've got a tolerance) for the comedown. I continued to use the inhaler at this time, but I was doing something different. I would inhale as deep and strong through my nose while covering one of my nostrils, and then I would hold my breath.
The first time I actually felt it, I thought it was from lack of oxygen. However, even the times when I would do half a breath of the Vick's and then breathing air I would still get the same exact feeling even when I didn't hold my breath that long. The feeling I got is really hard to describe, but I'll try my best. I would feel it start to come on in my body going towards my head...it was a tingly, buzzing feeling that was also relaxing. That feeling continued to get stronger and stronger until I eventually "lost consciousness". I put that in quotes because of how strong this feeling got, and this is where it gets hard to describe. It's almost as though you're completely brain dead, almost no thoughts whatsoever yet you're able to see the world around you. What's weird is, what you see has no meaning and it just looks like a bunch of shapes of colors. Then you begin to "regain consciousness" aka you're able to think again and the shapes of colors start to get more meaning until you're back to your old self with the initial tingly/buzzing sensation.
After doing this a dozen times, I began thinking that what I was feeling probably wasn't a good thing, so I stopped doing it (funny, I know, but etizolam makes me really fiendish). I also stopped because I was wondering why I was feeling that way because I thought these inhalers only had some form of menthol in it and nothing else until I looked on the package and saw there was an active ingredient of, low and behold, l-methamphetamine. So can anyone shine any light on this? I personally believe that it can cross the BBB, but people think otherwise (or think that it's non-recreational) because you have to do a lot of it for a long period of time. I hope someone can answer this.
