KY, Louisville - 02.26.05 Saturday - Deep Blue 2 yr anniversary w/ Felix Da Housecat

Yeah, for shizzle. That was totally worth the drive, the pain in my legs and my current highly cracked-out status. I mean, really now. I danced so hard last night/this morning, that when I got to the hotel and took off my shoes and socks, I had hardcore blisterage.

Props to Marea and Felix for getting that main floor destroyed %110. :P Special thanks to Marea, Assault & Felix (such a nice fellow) for the autographs. That really did make my day.

---

Marea and Lyndz,

I was waiting at the front door for you, but there was a mini-brawl; two bouncers and a cop ripped a guy out for shoving someone... I don't know the details, I couldn't see it well... But they started shouting for everyone to get out and clear a path, so I did. Couldn't get back in after that, and waiting out in the parking lot for 5-15 minutes, and my ride had to go.

On a frustrating side note, the hotel I went to had at least 4 people in it that knew the way to Hushabye, and I found that out this morning before I left.

But don't you worry, Deep Blue has managed to win over another convert for the Louisville scene, and I am from this day forward %amillion for supporting shows that rock like Illumination. You both can count on me coming back some time in the future for more shows. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll get my act completely together and start comping a demo or something. The impact of this party on my perception of the job/role of the DJ was beyond description, to the point where the first thing I did was jump on my turntables.

---

This was my first party meeting BLers irl, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed everyone I spoke to: Marea, Lyndz, Jujubee (and the rest of the people in Juju's crew, I don't know their BL names. And I am looking forward to meeting more as the good times keep coming.

Time to shower, smoke, and sleep. :P

^^ P.S. Marea, I love the hoodie design, and will be willing to mail you check/money order/cash/my soul/etc. in exchange for one. I'll even pay shipping. :D

Also, if ANYONE has a spare flier, I would be forever and eternally grateful beyond recognition if I could get one. Again, I can send a SASE and maybe even recompensation for someone who could help a brother out.

that's what happens we you combine old school louisville with new school lousville, old ideas cross with new ideas and everyone puts there very own hard work into this thing. by the way everyone in deep blue everyone did a great job last and you all made us look like a first class production company. i couldn't be anymore happier then right now, with what i am working with.

that was the most stellar music i have heard in so long.

felix rocked the fuckin roof off... it might as well have been on fire in there cuz it was hot AND bumpin... i really can't get over how good his set was.

502 my.jungle.like.whoa 502

this was a pretty phat party. my first time at @tmosphere, but i ran into alotta, i mean alotta old friends. and put a few faces with some names. and i didnt bitch about the music. felix was nice. booth played some shit i hadnt heard him spin, and assult was off the fuckin chain. big props to deep blue, cause everyone had a good time. i havent heard any complaints. but sorry pretty much all of u missed jon owens throwing down on 3 decks at his house, it was after the pipe busted and semi flooded the basement :) , but after they got that shit settled, something got into him, cause he was laying down some shit. i really had no concern about how my friends were feeling, whether they were ready to go or not, cause my eyes and ears, were pratically glued to them decks. wow :) (im an asshole) or maybe i drink too much. fuck it.

big UPS to the naptown crew, marea, ron, jon, robyn who came so late, lindz, nate, tim fusion, booth, too many names. much love to all i forgot. i gotta work. deepblue like whut?! reppin the 502 ~damoN~

oh and call me poor, but i really couldnt buy a bottle of bourbon in the vip room for like $120 , when i can get me a fifth of jim beam for less then $20. i wasnt broke, but i wasnt dumb. im glad i didnt pre drink too heavy, or i would have bought me a bottle ;) ~damoN~

Post from and Indiana guy

just an indiana guy who went to this event and had a BLAST! I haven't partyied in Louisville in like four years. I saw so many old faces (I'm sure mine didn't look any younger!) -- and hung out all night with some GREAT peeps - Nate FX, Nasty Nate, and my OLD PAL Nate from 1999, together we could confuse any scene. HEh HE -- my car drove itself all the way home as Dizzy's beats filled my head as Gavin's (err, I mean DJ Booth's) CD filled the car. Very nice.

The impromptu afterparty was interesting as I got to see where John Owens hung his headphones... Along with MANY other dj's -- I just have to say that EVERYONE i ran in to couldn't have been nicer! I also enjoyed the time that Serendipity and I were graciously allowed to play some records to an early morning gathering. You'all were great hosts to my entire carload and I would love to return the favor on our turf! Everyone received the flyers for "Get Lucky - March 17th - Indy" with an open mind and I hope that we will have a showing from da' BOMB Louisville scene. With all of the people that I got re-aquanted with I couldn't have had a BETTER TIME! nice to chill witcha, Nates (x3), DJ BOOTH, THE lady 4 sqaure, John Owens, -- met a cool dude named 'Ben' (i think) while Dizzy was playin'... and many cool cats during the after party!

I am SOOoooo jealous of the Louisville scene. Tonight I will get some sleep and dream of ways to get Indy back from the dead. This experience has inspired me to find creative ways to promote electronic music. THANK YOU! It was just a 'good ol' fashion time' -- I know that with Indy sooo close to Louisville that if we work TOGETHER and not competitively we can create an environment where we are growing the midwest's awareness of the inevitable submergence of intelligently played electronic music.

thank you to all, once again -- It was great to see all of you. I will be back sooner than 2009, I promise. -- it was soooo fun!
