know it all kn0bs that think they know all about drugs...? and BS stories you've hear

If I could be arsed to look it up I'd post that pic of the "Ketamine: Too Good For Horses" t-shirt. Can't be arsed so that brief description must suffice :(

Also, ketamine is very rarely used for horses cos it sends 'em funny. It's mainly used in surgery and emergency trauma cases in children and old people in human-based medicine and for small animals in veterinary care. True story :)

Much as I wish it were different, MDMA only has any effect on me for about 12-18 hours redosing at most. Maybe 24 in a pinch. Have binged for longer but doses get ridonkulous and the effects just become mehness :\

*cough* I knew you already knew that but is my stock answer whenever ket/horse talk comes out so more a reflex than a response. Disappointment is still an acceptable reaction though. And in similar note, why is heroin called "horse"? Never did work that one out :?

Ah now your trying to bamboozle me never knew H was called horse, you learn something new everyday as they say..;)

an anti-e drink though? how intriguing.

You sure can, ive actually seen someone do this :\ .. i think anywhere between 5 to 10ml at once would become lethal...

There's the guy that told me I was stupid for saying that the pokeball he had wasn't coke based

the girl who told me all the bad things that ecstasy does to you but when I asked her if she knew what mdma is she says, "what's mdma?"

The countless people who say that E puts holes in ur brain but when asked how they know this they just get frustrated at me and don't know what to say or change the subject.

Oh and the psychology teacher who said that ecstasy is a generic form of meth

my brother who was telling me to stay away from lsd because a friend said that most tabs are a mix of strychnine and meth

The gangsta/cholo/badass on the block who swears they know everything there is to know about any drug but who wouldn't know the difference between tfmpp and mdma. I tried to xplain piperazine to some of these uneducated hood dwellers and they said "pssshh na wtf foo stfu you don't know shit dawg, I get some bombies homie, these thizzles is legit".

Let them be content with their ignorance.

  • Taking ecstasy makes you so loved up you want to hug fires
  • Ecstasy works by forcing spinal fluid into your brain

The second one annoyed me the most. Was with a couple of friends and friends-of-friends. Neither of the two of my friends who were there do drugs (well, except alcohol... hmm), so when friend-of-friend came out with "ecstasy made me hug a fire, I was like mmmm warm friendly fire"... as far as I know, no one has decided to hug a fire on MDMA. But I really don't enjoy expounding on my drug knowledge with my non-drug friends... so I had to let that one go.

I did at least ask
"You hugged a fire?"
"Yes"
"Wow... did you get badly burned?"
"Well, no, I didn't actually hug the fire, just thought... it's warm and cosy and friendly..."

So perhaps partly dispelling the belief in the room that a risk of taking MDMA is setting yourself on fire. WARNING: It may make you think fires are warm and cosy.

Most recent comedy drug myth I heard is of supposed "synthetic ketamine" doing the rounds. Suspect they may possibly mean MXE but tickled me immensely. I did ask what part of standard ketamine isn't synthetic and was told "Yeah, ket is sort of synthetic but this stuff is actually synthetic and is really dangerous". I obviously said they're welcome to give any suspected synthetic ketamine to me for analysis and safe disposal cos I'm nice like that :)

PS: That "Anti-E" thing can't be right surely? Have never heard of such a thing but if there is then why is it not used medically in cases of MD "OD"?

The one about air in a rig:! i 've accidently injected half a 1ml lof air to no avail.
 
things like "I thought a tree was mickey mouse" and "I was chased up the road by a giant lego man" (made these up)

"a tree looked like micky mouse" and "It appeared a giant lego man was following me up the road, but I knew in reality nothing was there" would be more facual statements. Annoys me when people make out they actually lose track of reality when they don't

these all came from the same guy 8)
 
I wonder... This Anti-E stuff - could it conceivably be a low-strength antipsychotic? A dopamine/serotonin antagonist would likely tick the bill to reduce some of a drug's effects...?

First question if it is would be how effective such a drug would be, side effects, etc...?

Wouldn't have thought they would use a benzo or other sedative due to the common use of alcohol... :-S

To be brutally honest, it all sounds like bollocks - MDMA has a fairly wide margin for error, and using a drug such as 'Anti-E' to counteract a lay-person's "diagnosis" of an overdose situation, when there's no guarantee it's MDMA or even a phenethylamine at all, would be almost too stupid a medical intervention practice to contemplate, wouldn't you think?

I believe there's some truth to the claim that high doses of vitamin C can bring the lost-in-space LSD user back closer to earth. Think that's why orange juice. Not sure if the same principle applies to ecstacy but its seems reasonably possible.
