Opioids Kicked The Oxy addiction, but want to use responsibly?

^its 50 posts, it used to be 20 when I joined but upping it cut down on certain problems.

Hi, Rather new to blue light.. But anyways.. I was addicted to Opiates for a good 6 months.. Took 2 trys to quit.. Just going on a week of being Opiate free.

Questions are is it possible to wait a few weeks or months and use them say limit myself to once or twice a week as I know the effects of addiction.

Also tolerance. I used everyday for 6-8 months taking up to 500-700mgs a day and up to 3000mcg's of fentayl thingys that disolve in your mouth.. I enjoyed playing call fo duty and letting them fizz in my mouth and nod out. Haha.

Also anyone whom needs advice or help for quiting. I did cold turkey 500mgs a day to ZERO.. Gf helped i flailed around in my bed for 3 days feeling like death.. took a drive and now after 6 days im fine and just kinda miss it.. I just don't want it running my life.

Thanks in advance!:):):)
i had a daily habit for a few years. ive been 3 months clean, though lately ive let myself partake again a few times. now i'm not partaking for a few weeks

* depends on how psychological the addiction is
* depends on how long since you've quit. post acute withdrawal occurs because opiate receptors down/up-regulate (the main mechanism of tolerance) over a very very long time. before resuming opiate "chipping", be sure you're feeling normal again. if you're still in WD at all, right after WD, or maybe even PAWs if it's bad or at the peak of it, you will disrupt the process of your opiate receptors returning to normal and the PAWs will last longer. WDs can come back full force (though not as drawn out) if you go from WD to high (and then run out and go back... they can be worse than before you got high)
* you will get physically hooked easier because of your past habit. you have to be careful about your use
* tolerance will rise much faster because of your past habit

overall it's up to you. as you know, it's playing with fire, i'm just saying, it's even more so fire with a past habit

after returning to chipping (and don't do it more than once a week or tolerance *will* sneak up) be on the look-out for signs of addiction aka "i want to do A, but having fent with A would make it so much better..." etc, all those little psychological things. most say you can't return to chipping. i think they may be trying to return too soon

if you wait three years, you should basically be back to baseline, but your tolerance/dependence will still rise much faster than normal so you'd still not want to get into any daily pattern

also, 3 months probably wasn't long enough. it's just sorta hard to wait, you know:)

personally, i think the psychological relief that chipping can provide, and the control over the opiate signals it affords, can help recovery after the receptors have been given time to upreg. i don't think we're meant to go extended periods without any ability to release suffering or achieve pleasure. having a release at hand sometimes makes life bearable

of course, if you are of the more addictive personality type (which you wouldn't admit to if you were heh) it'd do more harm than good

In all honesty, I don't have a very addictive personality.. That's why my addiction to oxy's to me by surpise.. I used fine when they wernt available to me easily.. Then when I got the crooked DR everything went Down hill, I mean down hill.. I used to have a routine, friday night me n my friend would first split oc 40 chill all night do our thing... few weeks later it was a hole OC cause our tolerance rose, him and I ended our friendship.. I was injured.. and things went down the shitter! Haha

But Yeah I'm still doing fine no relapse I take alot of advil or tyneal to feel as if im popping pills.. My sleep habbit is not completly back yet... But I'm doin' alright.

It's just I want to chip but then I don't its this vice.. Like I know i can use responsibly if i have to pay street price because flat out i cant afford using every day... inless i had the crooked dr.

in the same post you wrote,
I take alot of advil or tyneal to feel as if im popping pills..
and the following is a paraphrase,
at first when i had intermittent access i was fine because i was unable to use daily... then when i had a daily connect (dr) things went crazy
i'm not trying to be condescending or say i know more about you than you. just pointing that out, a useful service often for us drug users
It's just I want to chip but then I don't its this vice
personally i feel like drugs can be seen as a sort of symbiont with society/individuals and as a life enhancer when used as a treat. i'm a (sustainable-) hedonist

but if you think about wanting it all the time / keep looking forward to your next chip, chipping isn't truly chipping is it? it's definitely not acting as a "life enhancer" in such a case, it'd be the opposite

again, i may be assuming too much

though i've noticed, if someone sees a drug as "a vice", and hence "has significant problems with it", chipping isn't the easiest thing to do in such a state of mind. it's a forbidden pleasure

What I learned is never say "It won't happen"

You need to prepare for that just in case, ive been a year clean, relapsed but I knew what to do, I was prepared for it to recognize the signs if it got worse or if i wanted to do it real bad i'd stay the fuck away.

If after what you've been through, the addiction and all I'd say no way. If you were to go from a daily user in the 100mg's range to a casual weekend warrior, you would be a statistical anomaly. Don't try it, try getting hooked on herb man, cause opiates and you will probably never work out

From my personal experience; here is what I have to tell you. I was hooked on OC and Heroin for 4 years. I got clean and stayed clean for 3 months. Then had that idea maybe I can try OC recreational. NOPE! Started doing it everyday again then went back onto the Heroin. Now back on Subutex.

CONCLUSION:

I decided that narcotics should not be abused, this thought was going thrugh my mind all the time I was on methadone...that God Forbid what if something happened requiring me to need pain medication (fortunatley I was young and healthy). I realized that whenever I needed narcotic pain medication I never had it, but I had it plentyful whenever I didn't need it...and it is true that when you are in pain even if you are super high on you favorite narcotic, it will never be as euphoric as it usually would be while you were sober.

BODY OF EVIDENCE:

I started sampling narcotics at 13.....around 16-17 I was hooked on oxy, hydromorphone (up to 24mg-30mg day snorted) and last but not least smoked fentanyl, started with 5mg chased every 2-4 days (high 24.7 kind of thing) till I was up to 10mg chased/smoked a day. I went on 205mg methadone a day for about 4 years, got off then went back after 5-6 months on 60mg-70mg methadone this time only a few months...quit that. Then I started smoking/chasing and ocasionally snorting heroin, when I started I could have a point (100mg) last me even 3 full nodded out days of chasing and getting high. After a while other friends of mine and I could smoke 1g heroin to ourselves in not even 24hrs, I got up to no more no less that 1g per day and if I had any next day it would usually be less than a point or even half...barely enough for a hit. The H was good because the same people that smoked it started shooting it and once they did 50mg-70mg would have them fucked a good 8hr straight.

Anyways I've been clean for about 4-5 months now and I've decided to try to snort or smoke H only and only in cases on emergencies where for example God forbid: tragedy such as a personal or family crisis, health or otherwise. Most recently I hadn't touched it for about 2-3 months when I felt so hard at work that I had to break my fall with my hand I litterally thought I would die. At around 2:00am at night I had taken 10mg clonazepam already (i take 4mg daily so not that much), bunch of clonidine to counteract the effects of the extract of 100 Aspirin with codeine 8mg and caffeine 15mg over the course of 6-8 hours. Around that time I couldn't take it anymore and for the first time in my life I started to cry in tears from physical pain (my arm hurt even as it was resting)...I went to the nearest hospital where I got in the emergency room, I got 20-25 (took 15min total) to take radiographys alone on my arm...I left the hospital in just as much pain around 6:00am. The doctor refused to give me either a mild prescription painkiller (even though he clearly saw there were fucked up ligaments in the radiography not to mention that my eyes were red as fuck from crying) and number 2 he didn't even give me a note for my family physician as I was going to see her around 9:00am that morning telling her with a written note as well, that I was in the emergency room and needed to be treated for pain...he turned his back on both (I left the hospital but let him know before that I know my rights and that he violated his hippocratic oath in front of his nurses but dumb fuckin robot made of steel whores prob didn't give a fuck).

My family doctor was on vacation, on the answering macine was saying in cases of emergency to visit the hospital (which I had come back from as I was calling).

I stayed for another 8hrs or so with ice and a few Tylenol 3's, a few Aspirins, a few Clonazepams and some Clonidines.

I went and got 100mg of heroin...because I needed fast relief I smoked (can't stand needles) around 30mg-40mg max at first and got blasted high with noticable pain relief.

I got some very high grade Jack Herer which is a medical sativa (70:30 sativa:indica), though I smoke high grades every day I got really high from a pipe with relief in my arm and then I snorted a maximum of 10mg bumps every 5min while smoking/chasing some until I got a bigger buzz from the smoke. After I got the buzz from chasing I snorted the last pile making that about 25mg snorted in 10-15min after which I got relief for the first time and lasted about 7-8hrs very strong while only redosing/chasing very little at the end. When I was done I still had over 55mg-60mg left!

Use ONLY in emergencies.....for example never in my life (Thank God) have I had such sever pain that I was crying with tears for over 25hrs straight under the influence of 800mg+ codeine, aspirin....cannabis, etc, and even then I only bought the smallest amount available which is a point even though 2 points would have been 10$ cheaper. I love heroin but I know from experience and I know from friends who started to inject it that it's a joke with life like playing with fire is. From a legal perspective since heroin or narcotics stronger than H are available for purchase leagally with a prescription or available in crisis centers such as hospitals, I don't think there is a reason (unless you are not mentally ready which you only find in time yourself) why not use a strong narcotic or rather a strong enough narcotic painkiller to block your pain (be it 3-4 tylenol #3 during a toothache or 100mg-200mg smoked or injected heroin over 2-3 days for sever crying with tears kind of pain...if a needle doesn't bother you as it does myself which is why i never could touch it).

The thing with narcotics is that they have a very delicate line between bliss and agony/relief and agony slash dependence. Rather for the 1st time in my life when I did that heroin I hardly felt it was euphoric or 'sweetest thing on earth' feeling because the pain was unbearable and it took away from the high....but if I had bought more heroin to last after the worst of the worst pain than I would just feel the heroin effects as after all it takes a good 5-7 days of 24/7 highs to get a bad enough/noticable tolerence where the effects no longer work from 1 or 2 points. Not even medical cocksucking doctors know this line so in my experience the more you use them the more you get a chance to remeber the experiences as 'sweet'.
