Ketamine Appreciation thread

Personally, to me, there is no difference between the experiences I've had IM'ing and the times I've had snorting. With IM there was no drip, but strangely enough I could still taste it in my mouth. The k-hole is characterized by the timelessness, and the complete loss of self. As if I am time, I am space, I am matter, I am all there is, and there is no such thing as I, no concept of it.

Then comes re-entry. :D

First time I read this, it struck a chord. When Gavin83 quoted your words and I re-read them, I realised that it spoke to me because your experience represents a large proportion of both my holes.

I really shouldn't have been concerned - nobody of any substance wanders round BL sporting drug 'war medals'. The only relevance of individuals' experiences comes through via the knowledge they share with others...bottom line - enjoy my K, stay safe and don't bump up doses too high until I've got some history with the drug.

Never taken me anywhere at all !!!!!! Recall sunday morning Gavin ? I don't recall disappearing at all despite trying to!

To go on the galactic magical mystery tour, it's best if you are in a darkened room with no distractions & the music on quietly. It may well be that you're getting distracted by what's going on around you (or even the telly) as it doesn't take much to draw your atrention away during the initial phase. It's when I've had distractions like the tv and gone for fuck-off sized IM doses (150-200mg) that I've scared the shit out of myself with the drug. I've done that dose several times and whenever there's been no distractions etc I've always had a fantastic experience.

One thing I've found helps with the larger IM doses is to include a small amount of amphetamine as it a) helps retrieval of k-hole memories and b) stops you falling asleep during emergence from a hole(that got to be the bane of my life at one point). Mind you, I always make a point of doing the 'corpse act' on either a bed or something equally comfortable, so it's not that surprising.

Ketamine is supposed to be very similar to experiences in sensory deprevation floatation tanks - in other words, going the whole 9 yards with either is best done as a solitary activity

Have you ever tried a tank? I just found out there is a center VERY near me that has one. I am hesitant to go and become a member of the center so I can use it though, as they are all.. erm.. kind of new age wackos (they have seminars on beaming healing energy to distant sick loved ones, healing with colors, etc).

No way I could get away with using anything in it that might make me unresponsive though.

Ketamine seems to filter out certain frequencies of the music so you can only hear parts of it. It's true!

Just go along and join anyway and if one of them comes over and starts bathing you in new age love, threaten to thrash them to within an inch of their pointless lives and make them more brain damaged than they already are if they don't fuck off and leave you alone immediately. I can pretty much be sure that you'll get all the space & uninterrupted time you want in the sensory deprivation tanks. You could then use things that make you unresponsive as the last thing they'll do is pester you until they get a response!

No - they float you in a saturated solution of Epsom Salts in order to make you utterly bouyant. Mind you, if you get a mouthful, drowning may seem like the preferential option to suddenly blasting off propelled by a stream of high pressure diarrheoa (Newton's third law of motion demonstrated perfectly)

I've never been around you using Ketamine.

How do they stop it getting in your mouth then?

The idea is to keep your mouth shut. :p

Well yeah oviously but that's like giving a gun to a kid and saying the idea is not to shoot yourself in the foot...nobody does an accident on purpose...

You float on your back and your mouth never makes contact with the solution - obviously face down will give you more than a near death experience!

The chambers are soundproof, lightproof and the magnesium sulphate solution you float in is warmed to body temp. You have all sensory input removed not by antagonism of NMDA receptors, but by the brain becoming bored and ignoring all input as the surroundings are unchanging.

Different route, but you get to the same (very weird) place

That sounds amazing to be honest. I must give it a go at some point. :D

And if it was after Astrix Stephen I fell asleep in the coach station and missed you all. Should have just woken me up. :(

ok. k-hole. there are no more questions

On the shulgin scale you say?

+4

O

M

F

G

!

!

Now I can see why there's a ketamine appreciation thread.

...not easy to just 'come down' from a +4, I'd like to add.

edit : I powered down everything and anything with a light or a buzz or a noise. I turned the heating systems off and...

silence really was golden

My soul died so many times. It was reborn on every level, in every way I could possibly conceive. Mostly I was represented by images that I couldn't hope to even try and quantify but at one point in the loop I was just veinous and arterial networks trying to fabricate a lifeform...

I have no idea how long I just lay there when I'd exited the hole, too awestruck to begin contemplating what was real or not... Still shaken by the sensation of being a whole galaxy doubled-back on itself about to...i don't know - maybe expand, maybe collapse.

To keep dying again and again, I don't know the number of loops before I started surrendering myself to it. . . bliss
