Is there any way to prevent doing damage to my bladder?

Does it take less than a year of use to notice any damage?

if i have done less than an ounce of K in my whole life, i'm probably fine right?

any info would be srsly appreciated thx

Ketamine bladder damage seems to be linked to two major factors.

1. Individual genetics
2. Consumption rate

Some people seem to be able to blow through ounces a week of ket and have no damage to their bladder, others can hardly manage a gram a day. The cut-off point for toxicity in most people seems to be roughly a gram a day - any more than that is correlated pretty strongly with bladder damage, at least in the literature. This isn't to say that 1g/day is a safe limit, it's just that most cases of bladder damage are from chronic high-dose usage.

It's impossible to say for sure how damaging ketamine (or norketamine, or 6-hydroxynorketamine or whatever) is to the bladder, especially in low-dose usage. I don't think there have been any studies done on what threshold bladder damage appears at - just lots of studies on the etiology of ketamine bladder damage after it's become a problem.

If you're not pissing blood, going to the bog every 15 mins, or only passing a shot glass of liquid every time you go, you probably don't have to worry. Ketamine is used in anaesthetia in bigass bolus doses without many reports of bladder damage.

The best way to prevent damage is to not do ketamine, or moderate your use and keep it infrequent.

THANK YOU that was a great post and extremely helpful for me. My use has never really exceeded more than a gram a day, and never more than twice a week. I think its also important to stay hydrated while on ketamine, as the water dilutes the urine in the bladder making it somewhat less toxic. Even if that isnt the case, staying hydrated is always important and healthy.

I will definitely be moderating my use in the future and keeping it under a gram.

Seen a woman on jeremy kyle with severe bladder problems due to ketamine abuse very off puting. have only done ket a few times myself but would never make a habit of it

i could def notice bladder problems from doing more than a gram a day. i had an ounce and did about 20 grams to myself in the span of about 2 weeks. It hurt to pee, and if i drank a bottle of water in 10 minutes i was peeing it out.

But ive cut my consumption down by quite a bit, maybe doing a gram or 2 week. And so far all the problems seem to have gone away. But im also taking multi-vitamin, fish oils, liv-52 and overall eating healthier.
