Kandi Bikini Tutorial

^thanks me too! my friend bought them for me as a gift for making the top. now i can't picture my outfit without them

Definitely will. I'm trying to decide what design I could get away with on mine that isn't overly complex.

Here is a top I made for my OTHER friend for NYE (yes I get to wear every single top I make first....=P ). We're all gonna be in these tops it's gonna be awesome. She's a D cup so that's why it's sorta hanging in the bottom (the rainbow part).

They just look really uncomfortable though? Mind you with my big n hairy moobs I dont think they would work :D

Definitely. I'm considering something that's possibly black and rainbow, or black and hot pink with a hot pink heart connector or something. I dunno. Something simple, but not plain... if that makes any sense. I do love the heart connector xD but I may need some coaching on it. I don't know if I could do an actual design (like your snowflake for example) on the bikini itself but I may be able to figure out stripes or something.

My brainstorming skills are having a fail moment. Black as the base color for sure (for example black stripe, color stripe, black stripe, different color stripe). Doing the neck strap will be easy enough, so I can pretty much do any design for that part.

Edit: You're better at this than I am, if you have an idea that you feel could be simple, I'm open to it. Maybe instead of like... vertical, diagonal, or horizontal stripes, we could slowly layer them inward. If that doesn't make sense, perhaps I'll download the bead tool and try to work with it so I can show you what I mean xD.

Edit again: Nevermind. I tried it in bead tool, and didn't like the way it looked. ._.

So, I was just messing around, and I came up with these. Basically a variation of the same thing. The last one is just for fun, I don't think I could figure it out just yet xD.
I'm starting to re-think about adding some white beads into the mix, or even changing all the black beads to white in general. I dunno. I'm still not sure what my capabilities even are :P

And I had to take pictures too (sorry, the last one is blurry) because they have the screenshot ability disabled. Bastards.

I based the colors as well as I could off the beads I currently have, though I'm aware I'll likely have to buy more.

Bearlove - They actually aren't too bad. The only thing uncomfortable to me is the thought of it stretching too much or breaking...The triangles are actually the most comfortable part, it's the straps that are the sketchy part because I always make them a little tighter. But someone did suggest fabric on the back of the beads - that would probably help. Also, I do plan to wear a lace bodysuit under mine which also helps!

Wadsworth - Those designs are really interesting! I LOVE the one on the left, I really like the one on the right, and the one in the middle is okay (I try not to leave so much of any one color in my designs). I think the one on the left is so awesome! Imagine that as your left triangle and then the right triangle would be the mirror image of that (with the little rainbow triangles going the other way). Yeah I think that would look sick!

Keep in mind also that your triangles can be different, they don't always have to mirror each other or be the same. For instance, you could have the left triangle be the design on the left, and have the right triangle be the one in the middle (or the design on the right but flipped so the stripes aren't going the same exact way). I hope I'm making sense!

Anyway you can count how many of each color you're going to need (in fact you should...on my friend's top I was horrified I ran out of blue glow beads). Yuppp

And I'll post pics on how to do the heart connector. You basically leave 4 rows at the end and just make the heart shape. The only semi-tricky part is getting the very bottom bead on the heart to work. I knew I should have taken pics of how to do that...I am working on that new pattern I posted above so when I finish both triangles I can show you!

One more thing - I think the stripes on your top would look nice in the beads you have in the bottom row of your bead box. They would probably stand out well against the black and be all shinyyy <3

Nice tutorial. I actually went back and re-read it and understand. (Haven't even made a kandi bracelet in years).

BTW, if you need info on how to make a DeadMau5 head, let me know. My friend made one last year. He said it was fun, but sooo dam hot to actually wear.

DJGiZmO - I love seeing people in those Deadmau5 heads!! But I meant the kandi 3D Deadmau5!!! I really want to know how to make it so I can SHARE it with you guys and with friends. I remember reading on kandipatterns.com that the woman who runs that site knows how to do it but she won't post a tutorial because the person who knows how to make the Deadmau5 head asked her not to. I swear I've seen them for SALE online. Tisk tisk.

I say if you know how to do it you should share and not be so selfish. Especially SELLING kandi... that's really ridiculous.

BTW just go to google and type in Deadmau5 kandi and you'll see the 3D I'm talking about

Ahh, understood. Yea, selling kandi IMO defeats the purpose.


However, the quality of your end product is so good, if I was a girl, I'd offer you something to make me one.
