I have a prescription for K-pins... Stupidly without even thinking about it, I have been taking 1mg per day for a little over 6 weeks now. about 6 and a half wks 1mg everyday... I am stopping this wk.

2 questions

1) Will there be any wd from this?
2) If so, when would the wd start after I take the last dose? and how long would the wd last?

thanks all

appreciate the help w this...

How many clonazepam do you have left?

The two questions.

1) = Yes
2) = They would start when the clonazepam from your last dose is on it's way out of your system. (That's why I am asking the question above).
I don't think anyone would be able to give you an accurate length of w/d's when it comes to benzos.

any average lenght of wd for 6 wks on? I have probably 10 left... How long will it take to get out of system? I mean if I dont have any wd for 4-5 days and I in the clear?

Really need some help with this.. Will there be wd for sure? How bad would they be? Very concerned.. Haveing a panic attack just thinking about it

10 .5 mg pills.. How bad is this wd for taking it for 6 wks? Could you guess how long it would last? and what trhe first symptoms would be?>

I would suggest you taper with your remaining last 10 days...I'm sure shredded would be able to suggest which doses to take, I have zero experience with benzo tapers. I am 99% sure though that 6 weeks of constant benzo use is enough to cause a physical dependence so you can expect withdrawal symptoms. Kpin has a very long half life so just because its been 4-5 days of no symptoms does not mean that there won't be any.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzodiazepine_withdrawal_syndrome

That should cover what you can expect from your withdrawal, since your use was on the shorter side of things I wouldn't expect you to have all the symptoms listed and also I'd believe that your symptoms won't be as intense as for someone who has taken benzo's for years. GL, benzos are not a good drug to be on long term my man, your doing the right thing in getting off of them.

Discontinuation
Treatment should be discontinued gradually, with a decrease of 0.125 mg taken twice a day and repeating this every 3 days, until the drug is completely withdrawn.
You were on them for 6 weeks, which isn't that long, so you can adjust the taper amount with what you have left.

You have 5mg left. In order to get that 0.125mg means you need to break or cut each one of those 10 tablets into quarters.
This will give you a total of 20 x 0.125mg sections left.

So for the next three days you need to take one of those quarters twice a day for 3 days.
You will then have 14 x 0.125mg segments left after the 3 days.
Then for days 4,5 and 6 you do the same, but try and get through at least one day of only taking 1 of those quarters.
You will then have around 10 more segments left.
For days 7 and 8 you take one of those segments twice a day.
You will then have 6 more segments left.
For day 9 you can do the same (.0125 twice a day).
You will then have 4 segments left.
Take 0.125 twice a day for day 10.
You will then have 2 segments left.
Day 11 take one.
Day 12 take one.

That is the best option for you to taper with what you have left and after 12 days of tapering you might not even go into withdrawal.
And if you do the withdrawal schedule above, it would be a much smoother and safer way than just taking 1mg for the next five days and then stopping cold turkey.

And you probably wouldn't go into withdrawal after day 12, maybe a bit of insomnia for a few days, but this is the best advice I can give with the limited amount of tablets you have left.

Good luck and if you need any advice during the next 12 days just ask and we will help you through it.

I hope you are going to stop taking them and are not trying to stretch out what you have left and then getting another prescription for them.
If that is what you are thinking about then I can't help you, but if you really want to get off the benzos then I will try and help you every step of the way.

*edit* I screwed up on the 20 segments, but it is in your favour, you will actually have 40 and not 20 segments.
I'm not going to edit the whole schedule, but just adapt it by doubling up on those doses if you really need to.
Sorry about that, it's been a long 3 days for me and your taper has just become alot more comfortable for you and you will probably not go into any heavy withdrawal or any for that matter.

alot of people jump off klonopin 1mg after using longer than that, or more. they get down to 1 mg and after a few weeks just stop. i wouldnt bother with .5mg since it would really have no effect whatsoever. what you could do, is take 1 every 3 or 4 days, when you feel you need it, and let it flush out quicker. get yourself a 24 pack of beer and a couple vicodin, maybe a 1/4 oz of kronz and just relax, you'll be fine man. good luck! -aphex

^everyone's different. i tapered down from 6-10mg clonazepam/day and had a seizure when i jumped off at 1. op's habit doesnt sound too sever though. i would follow shreddedlettuce's advice and save the valium.

i wouldnt if i were you. theres no way to know how sensitive you're going to be to the withdrawal if this is your first time.

this last time it was about a year and a half, 6-10mg clonazepam a day, and xanax up to 20mg a day sometimes. but i didnt have any problems until coming off the lower doses at the end of my taper. with the amounts you're talking about it should be a breeze, but you never know. i would still taper. dont just stop.

Ok thanks for the info.. How long was the wd for you? How long did it last? And how bad was it? Are u clean now?
