(JWH-073)+(JWH-018) New experience: Impressions of a ganja lover.

Uh, there's a Wikipedia article on them. Did you not bother to go to www.google.com and check for yourself? The Wikipedia article has a picture of the molecule, its IUPAC name, and links to studies done on the compound.

JWH-073 is an analgesic drug from the aminoalkylindole family, which acts as a cannabinoid agonist at both the CB1 and CB2 receptors. It is somewhat selective for the CB1 subtype, with affinity at this subtype approximately 5x the affinity at CB2.[1] The abbreviation JWH stands for John W. Huffman, one of the inventors of the compound.

Any word on what this is soluble in?

Acetone, IPA maybe, friend received some of this recently and was thinking of better ways to prepare it for smoking so he could know exact dosage, got some testing to be done today.
 
IPA is slightly toxic to the liver.

I'll try to dissolve some in alcohol tonight, but I tend to steer completely away from alcohol, so even a few drops of vodka on my tongue are not something I look forward to.

perhaps if somebody else has some that drinks they can do this experiment to settle our curiousities?
 
Excuse me guys, why even do it if it wears of quicker, feels unclean and in some cases ive read gives immense paranoia to the stage of thinking your going to die/going mental? please dont be a smartass and say something mean, im simply asking something, its not a personal attack or anything =/
 
Because it's far cheaper than marijuana. And some people like to experiment with new drugs. Personally I consider it extremely fascinating that there are so many different things that produce psychoactive effects. I mean, LSD and mushrooms and mescaline are probably the best psychedelics, but I love to try dozens of related but different compounds... it's fascinating to find out the differences and see what subtly different things each has to show me.

The short answer - curiosity and novelty. For exploratory purposes. :)

You don't have to worry about flaming here (or in Psychedelic Drugs, or in The Dark Side, or indeed in quite a few forums here at BL). We have worked hard to cultivate a friendly and supportive community environment. Being mean is not something that happens too often in this forum. :)

JWH-018 doesn't seem to dissolve in ethanol. Acetone works well, but isn't suitable for oral ingestion.

Any ideas for a solvent to use when ingesting this one?
 
you could use naptha then squirt the liquid on a small dish and let evaporate and then scrape up (that way you could take it orally still or you could have the option to vaporize it).

try to find VM&P brand as from my experience that evaporates quite cleanly.
 
I'm very intrigued by these JWHs. I have yet to try either one (though I had the chance), but being such a big fan of ganja, I'm interested to see if I could tell the difference blindfolded.

Seems to me the big advantage to the JWHs is not the effect (which is comparable with marijuana, apparently), but the stealth with which it could be carried and consumed, plus, (at least for now) the price.

Much of what keeps marijuana illegal and targeted by LEOs, I believe, is how conspicuous it is. It's bulky and delicate. Its appearance is fairly distinct, and its smell is unmistakable, both the raw product and the smoke and residues it produces. It's one of the easiest things to train a dog to smell. Marijuana is also conveniently conspicuous on drug tests, because it's chemically unlike any other psychoactive compounds, and has metabolites that have really long half lives in the body. The prospect of a compound that has all the desired psychoactive effects of marijuana, without any of these properties that make it so sexy to cops, is really something to get excited about.

Of course, this assumes that the effect is the main impetus for using this drug. Having modded Cannabis Discussion for a while, I've learned that for a non-negligible percentage of marijuana users, the social act and its surrounding rituals and significance is the point; the effect itself is an afterthought. In fact, you might be surprised (I sure was!) how many pot smokers could really take or leave the effect, and use the drug more or less only for its counterculture cache. If a young treehugger decides he prefers the JWHs to bud, he can no longer keep up any pretenses that he 'takes the all natural approach' to drug use. We can expound upon the many things that Jah has bestowed upon us, but JWH-073 is not one of them.

I really think we've hit a turning point with these chemicals. Go ahead DEA. Schedule them. You haven't seen the last of the synthetic cannabinoids. There will always be new ways to attach the active cannabinoid-receptor-binding domain to a new and different chemical skeleton.
 
guys is there some kind of pure form of synthetic cannabioids like JWH other than a form of spice products?
