I just IV'd MS Contin, done it a few times over the last couple days, and everything went perfect, but this time, which was my 2nd time for today, did it early this afternoon around 1ish, and i just did it now, about 10min ago, and it seemed to work fine, i hit the vein on my left arm on the first try, and I injected way slower then usual cause I was told that injecting morphine slowly will help lessen the histamine release effect, but for some reason, the histamine release this time was way more intense then its ever been, like usually i just feel it in my head and my arms, but this time i felt it all over my body, usually i dont mind it, but this time it was not comfortable at all, and now my hand, on the arm that i injected in, is like throbbing, and the skin on it feels really tight, i've never experience this before, and on my arm, next to the vein i used, a couple of the blood vessels are like raised up and i can see them and feel them through my skin. What does this mean, is it just a reaction to the histamine release, like maybe IV'd a lil too much, i only did 3 60mg MS Contins today, 2 of them around 1pm, and then just one a few min ago like i said, and I'm pretty sure, with the way you have to prep these things, you dont get exactly every bit of the 60mg in it, and plus this time i actually got the liquid to fill up all the way to the 100 mark on my 1cc syringe, when usually it only goes up to about 80 or 90, so i pushed some of it out til it was between 80 and 90 mark, cause that way it gives me more room to pull back on the plunger once i get it into my vein. Just a personal preference i guess. But anyways, this kinda worried me, so i wanted to see what you guys thought. I've only started IV using the weekend before last, before then, i never have used IV drugs except at the hospital when they would hook me up to IV. So do you guys just think that its the histamine release that is making my arm and hand feel/look wierd, or is something wrong ?

EDIT - its slowly subsiding, skin still feels a lil tight on my hand, but i can barely see or feel that one blood vessel anymore, so just figured i would give an update. Hopefully someone can answer me soon about what this was all about, cause it scared me a bit lol at first i thought maybe my vein collapsed, but I'm pretty sure thats not the case, cause theres no pain or bruising or any of the other signs i've read about to indicate that, so I'm hoping it was just a reaction to the histamine release. That shit was way too intense this time. Usually i like it, but not this time, i actually had to get up and walk around, my feet, hands, back, were itching/tingling, and i got way hotter and red then usual lol lobster status!

oh and i forgot to mention i IV'd a 30mg Oxycodone (roxycodone i believe most of you call them, i think the ones i have our generic, they are white, with a 30 imprinted on one side, and a M inside a square, imprinted on the other, which is the same brand as the MS Contins i get, they say 60 on one side and have a M inside a square on the other, as well) so i just wanted to make sure I put down everything i IV'd to day, so 3 MS Contin 60's and 1 Oxycodone 30

it's difficult reading your post.

try dividing your words into sentences; organize it a little and you'll get more responses, seriously.

you may have pushed right through the vein, like a bad subcutaneous shot.

hope all is well, be careful mate.

sorry, i am high, i have a habit of tlaking a lot a going in to too mcuh detail. Anyways, i kno i made it in the vein, i pulled back, blood flowed in, pushed the plunger down extra slow like i said, no swelling or bumps, i've missed before so i kno what it looks like. I just think it was a histamine reaction, and i did a lil too much to day. everything is fine now, arm looks perfectly normal, hand and skin feels normal. So like i said, i just think it was a reaction and that i did a lil too mcuh today. Like i was saying, i just started IV'ing the weekend before last, and i liked it a lot, and have done it almost everyday since, cause i have access to pretty much any opiate i want (except Fentanyl, which i dont even kno that i want to try that, too much ofa chance to OD on that stuff) so I think I just need to take it easy on the needles for awhile. I'm out of clean syringes anyways, so gonna take a break for a bit. But I would still like to here some other opinions on what could of caused the reaction I had. It would be much appreciated to hear some more opinions/thoughts. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

I don't know too much about injection, but I do know that very few pills are safe to inject. I don't think you should be injecting pills IMO. Did you cook it thoroughly? Another problem that i'm guessing is that your vein could've blown. That's happened to me in the hospital. Swelling should go down in a few hours if that happened.

Well like i said, there was no swelling, part of a blood vessel was raised up, and the skin on my hand felt really tight, but all of that went away about an hour or so after my last post. And just about 20min ago, i filled up a syringe (thought i was out of clean ones, but found one more that was hidden in my dresser, still in the packaging) with Saline and and injected in the same vein and spot that i used when the reaction happened. I wanted to see if maybe the vein collapsed or if something else had happened, and I didn't want to use anymore drugs for the night so I figured saline was the safest route to go. Anyways, I was able to hit the vein on the first try, blood came up perfectly, pushed the plunger down, saline injected fine, no ill effects or problems, so it looks like it was either just a hella harsh histamine reaction, or I just IV'd too much Morphine between yesterday and today. Probably a combination of both lol So I guess, thanks for the replies. I am all good, just was a lil worried, and I figured here would be a good place to ask, since I only have one buddy who IV's, him being the one who taught me, but I couldn't get ahold of him, so this was my only option besides going to the hospital and having them check it out, but that would be a last resort. So again, thanks for attempting to help me figure out what happened. Have a good one, peeps. Be Safe out There !
