Just how bad is the "Ghetto" in your city.

I heard Colombia is bad, but how did it ever get that missed up?

lol all amateur ghettos that wouldnt last 5 minutes in the deep south A.

I live in the most dangerous city in the world (Medellin, Colombia), or at least -was-, and while ive never had an issue yet, its hard to find somone who hasnt. Ive heard some of the craziest stories of escape from FARC kidnappings and shit like that. I know a guy whose missing both his hands cause he didint pay a $160 debt to the cartels, they even cortorised (SP?) his wounds so he wouldnt bleed to death while they gave him a firm blunt force beatdown.

In Medellin you got good city... then 100 feet away in any which way is nothing but slums to the hillsides. And no matter where you are, your always being watched by lookouts, your always being sized up by kidnappers, stalked a block away by street muggers. Everyones watching you at all times in public and the second theres a chance, shit goes down. Thats why unless you have bodyguards and your wearing a vest you should never wear anything expensive anywhere in public. Dress like a broke ass colombian.

Colombia corruptions so thick that they even have access to your bank account balances and other such information usually the second you enter the country, 'they' usually being the FARC and their freelancing kidnappers.

Oh and murders... I could take you for a walk through the slums and guarantee youd see a dead body sometime during that day. Its gnarly lifestyle them south americans live. You think you've seen ghetto, you aint seen nuttin.

No ghetto in my city, Naperville, IL, there are some slightly shady sections (I won't mentione where specifically) that I've been too usually consisting of poor apartment complexes where people sell diverted pharms and sit at home all day collecting disability. Aurora is probably the closest city with definitely fucked sections of the city. Then, like an hour drive away is Berwyn/Cicero and Chicago. I've never attempted copping in Aurora, since I'm usually driven there by someone who isn't cool, or I'm going to the nicer areas, there's a barber shop that I know about that you can just walk into and cop whatever you want.

anything east of broadway. in both directions. all teh way down to hilltop park to south high all ghetto. for teh most part. hilltop is bad. thats where i chill from time to time. hillside. 9th and grove. those are teh spots. and theyre all pretty fuckin bad. then theres north broadway. crappy food chains and apartments full of baseheads and junkies. its funny. and sad. its were to go if you wanty soem cheap electronics that dont work. lol.

jsut as bad as otehr cities ive been too. st louis. indanapolis places like that.

wow smotpoker, I never knew Dayton's ghettos were that bad, not to mention that it was in the top 15 most dangerous cities to live in. I've only been in Dayton, OH about 5 times and despite Dayton being a rather small city, it seemed like a normal city in that it had its nice parts and not so nice parts. although I did notice a surprisingly above-average amount of illicit substances come out/through Dayton - a surprising amount/quality due to the city's size and location. so it would make sense for the city itself to be more dangerous than its first impression.

I live in the heart of Columbus, OH - in what is known as the "student ghettos" (it's called the student ghettos jokingly because I'm just north of campus and in the cheapest district where there are bars/clubs every 20 feet. Columbus is just like any other big city, I suppose. you got the college town part, the downtown part, the drunk bar district where all the frats are, and the ghetto part. not unlike all other big cities with shady ghettos, crack cocaine is an obvious problem. although homeless people are not that much of a problem in Columbus (specially when you compare the homeless problem to the other Ohio big cities such as Cleveland or Cincy) there are some homeless crack heads who wander the streets at all hours in search of a means to get some rock. I've copped in the hood plenty of times, and it isn't all that bad for me because I have lived in this city most of my life and I know the area and my face is fairly known. Columbus is weird in that the absolute worst ghettos are not located right next to the downtown area - if you go a little east to the far East Side of Columbus, that area is shady beyond comfort for even myself. crack has dominated that area and if you try to cop anything else from the hood rats they will just bring rock back to you and then most likely try to pull a jack move.

all in all the ghetto areas of Columbus, OH are no different than any other big city. just don't be stupid with where you are and always be prepared for anything when copping in the hood.

Axel, that's why I love Columbus. You can be standing on Ohio State's campus, take one step to your right and bam! Welcome to Section 8 land! lol

Nothin like the dirty Bus!

I guess after reading other posts Daytons really not very different than any other city.

^ yeah, but Dayton is a little more noticeable, I guess, in that it is a smaller city and it still has that ghetto presence.

C-Bus is laid out funky, you are so right about one second being in frat boy land and then walking out to the East Side and all of a sudden you are in crack rock city.

The thing about Dayton, is, maybe you can't call it "ghetto", but the whole fucking city is trash. Even downtown is sloppy.

What does everyone here say are the qualifications for a city being "ghetto"?

$1.00 at the local 99 cent store man. shit. i got one of em but it aint mine.

Glad I could humor you Lacey! I seriously didn't know they were called that!

Du Rag!!!! That just sounds goofy! Why do black people like them so much?

I think it's meant to like keep the shape and tightness of their dreads or thug braided hair, but nowadays it's mostly just a fashion statement.

Known mostly for mardi gras and jazz, New Orleans has also finished at the top of the murder rate for the country on a few occassions. Take it from a resident, 85% of this city is nothing but one big ghetto. There are drug dealers on literally every corner.
" Last year, university researchers conducted an experiment in which police fired 700 blank rounds in a New Orleans neighborhood in a single afternoon. No one called to report the gunfire." taken from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6448213/did/8999837

^^Thas right.

When i get my hair done, i either use a stocking cap or a Du rag when i go to bed at night to keep the shit from gettin nappy

Didn't know that. I wear a bandana sometimes to keep sweat out of my eyes. So I was guessing du rags were for the same thing.

Does it really matter doe....lol....

this thread turned into Du Rags 101 :D

Any other questions yall wanna know like how to make dinner with a packet of koolaid, 4 slices of cheese, ketchup, and 89 cents? (add bread, add water to the ketchup theres your tomato soup and grill cheese.)

Shit.

Anyways, this is a interesting thread but all the threads related to "ghetto" that ever show up in this forum usually all turn out to say pretty much the same thing.
