Just found a health risks with lightbulb vapes

Turns out I was not mistaken. When you heat up your light bulb vape, the plastic does in fact melt a tad, and therefore you are inhaling some very small amount of plastic.

Before anyone argues, I use a 100 watt bulb, and I do keep the flame about an inch away.

If anyone thinks I'm wrong, please explain - im kinda paranoid and im not even high.

lightbulbs have no plastic on them.......so if you added plastic to your lightbulb, it would be good to try to build onto it instead with flame proof materials. metal booze cap, metal tube, glass bulb.....whats gonna melt? wheres the risk?

Good advice, use metal pieces and nothing will melt

Never thought of using a metal booze cap before, always just use a soda cap but it never seemed to melt (only the tube really seems to get hot)

the plastic im refering to is multiple things - straw, cap, bottle top.

and if u notice, after every smoke session the inside of the plastic is kinda soft.

i think plastic is not dangerous when its warm and changing states, only when it begins to vaporize, and i think you would notice the taste, does it become toxic. i think you could use plastic for the cap and the tube that goes into the bulb should fire proof. or use a tightly rolled paper tube..... i bet that could work , definitely safer than plastic. metal or glass would be best. or breakdown and buy a vape....

I've used a tightly rolled paper tube, that works great

i just hold onto the metal part and put my thumb over the hole and keep a straw in my mouth....

no plastic getting hot....

yea ur right, i dont think the plastic gets hot enough to even let off any fumes. thanks!

i actually did this yesterday - idk y..but it got me higher than ive ever been - wtf?!

i'd recommend buying a device meant for smoking/vaporizing instead of making your own and then posting a thread on BL about how you might be poisoning yourself with plastic fumes.

that's just my opinion, though.

thats a typical light bulb vape. a typical and common smoking device.

blue light is a safety forum, and I took the time to show some possible dangers with light bulb vaporizers and the plastic tops. maybe if your comments were more constructive, i would be more open to what you have to say.

idk, i've never seen a lightbulb vape like that... maybe the ones i've been around are atypical, though.

personally, if somebody were smoking that around me i'd be expecting it to catch flame and/or start melting, and i would definitely pass up a session out of that p.o.s.

I've used a tightly rolled paper tube, that works great

then you have to worry about being stoned and caught it on fire lol

personally i used a plastic cap with two plastic straws
never really smell/see melting plastic and i change the straws often
i think it's time to make a 3rd bulb since my 2nd attempt failed
also use a glass or metal cap with glass tubes %)

where as i got the bulb with two straws and let it burn on a candle
see pure vapor coming off these heavenly bud and i toke without pressing the outake hole
