Opioids Jumping off methadone at 80mg cold turkey, help?

Heres the story, methadone seems to have an effect that no other opiates seem to have, it makes life so dull, zero emotion gets through except for depression. My dad just died and the only time I really cried was at the funeral and when I saw him dead out the back of his house, thats not like me, im a sook lol

Does anyone else find that methadone just isnt for them? Ive been on it for a fair while now, over a year and tolerated it but I cant live like this anymore, id rather be on heroin/oxy and wd'ing most of the time than be a slave to this evil stuff.

Anyway how bad will this be? I know it will be bad and I have access to 30mg ms-contins, heroin and 8mg bupe tablets but im hoping I wont have to use any of that and if I do it will only be if I absolutely need it, I will also be smoking tons of pot and have seroquel to sleep. Its a real shame I cant get benzo's coz those alone would get me through. I know the deal with WD'ing with H/oxy but never done it for more than a day or 2 with 'done and the symptoms seem very different, mostly just yawning, runny nose, shitting, fatigue, sweating and hot/cold flushes.

Would immodium do anything for me or anything like that?

Sorry this is so long but this is a serious thing for me and I need specific advice. Thanks people :D
 
I've always liked to get my withdrawal over quick, I only came off 40mg methadone and it took ages to feel better, if you can try and go on something short acting for a few weeks before WD, I felt depressed for weeks and could've easily relapsed.

I've come off morphine a few times now and while its more uncomfortable, happiness and self control to not use come back sooner
 
how many 8mg subs do you have access to?

ibuprofen, and some stomach remedies may help......
 
Pretty much my only option would be using H/morph evey few days just to get a little relief(which I can do atm, I dont have the funds to get addicted again) and use as much seroquel as possible.

Im scared but the way my life is going and the way ive been feeling im happy to go through as much pain as it will take, just as long as normality returns which I know it will coz even now while in WD's the symptoms I was trying to eliminate have gone, maybe I just dont react well to methadone but a friend has said that he thought methadone was awful and nothing like other opiates/ods.
 
I will have to find out how many subs I can get but probably only 1-3 every few days to a week, im planning on having to use morph though which sucks. I wonder if a street bag(0.1g of top stuff) of H would get me well coz thats the cheapest option of all.

How should I use the subs?
 
if u have three...... dose at the last possible moment....

8mg day 1
4mg
4mg
2mg
2mg
1mg
1mg
0.5 times four days.....

change to what works better for u
 
youre insane man, id be gettin subs.

Good luck though being off opiates is well worth taking the pain.
 
whatever you do, dont take subs too soon after your last dose of mdone, ime wait at least 3 days or you'll be in a world of hurt. mdone wd's dont start in earnest till day 4 or 5 after a good while on mmt at a highish does, dont be fooled its a pain like no other. it'll come sooner or later with CT off 80mg good luck
