More dileriously tired than drunk (apologies TD). I needed to give Raas the opportunity to feel least offensive for once. It helps build his character.
Driving jobs, especially Lorry driving, are insanely tiring, and very restrictive when it comes to body movement. Not sure I'd advise the same thing Raas.
TD: The way the system is atm, it actively encourages you to have to LIE, because often the truth doesn't fit their brackets. It's ridiculous.
I'd get your depresssion and anxiety formally acknowledged at your docs. Because otherwise they wont take it into account when they assess what jobs you're going to have to apply for in the future (after being on ESA or whatever), or wont acknowledge it being a factor for the reason you cant perform your current tasks. Go on for as long as possible with your current employers, using sick notes from your Doc stating all the reasons why you cannot perform your current role due to X Y Z. Leave it up to your employers to decide what to do with you (as long as you can survive £wise on what youre getting SSP etc) and go on for as long as possible like that imo.
Don't retire yourself on the grounds of illhealth off your own back, get your employers to make that decision for you eventually, which they will and keep getting sicknotes for as long as possible from your Doctor. When you see your Doc for your next visit, you could have all the info about your depression and anxiety typed out and hand them the written letter to read from so youve made sure youve explained everything you can think of and how it affects you. its sometimes easier to do it that way. I do that and it helps
Your current employers may try to help you by accomodating you with a different roll, you never know. But please don't just retire yourself on the grounds of illhealth unless you're trying to keep things hidden from your doctors records, so you can keep certain future job opportunities open or something, if that makes sense
