Jobseeker's Allowance Megathread ver. The Jeremy Kyle Fan Club

Fully paid up member on the daily grind here. Mon-Fri 9 til 5 with a 3.5 hr commute thrown in just to fuck with my sanity even more! Still I'm a rat that doesn't really give a fuck about the race and when you've got family n responsibilities you gotta do what you gotta do.

Web developer 9-5 37 hours a week. Sometimes do telecoms work on the weekend for extra dosh in the big smoke. Still trying to bag my dream job at a small web company in Brighton tho.

Currently employed as a water quality scientist, but soon to be redundant due to all of our work moving to another lab.
Although my fuckwit of a HR manager has overlooked me when handing out notices so although I won't have a workplace to go to in 2 weeks, I'm on the payroll for at least another month. Ha! Wonder how long I can go unnoticed but paid?

I am on the sick at the minute, looking for a part time job but cant find anything.

I'm employed, kinda. I do SEO and affiliate marketing from home. Work about 2 hours a day. Not rich, but not poor either.

Can you please tell me a bit about your job, I would love to be able to earn a living from home.

Senior programmer for a major american corporation..
And so long as you don't take the piss, drugs can have a positive effect on your worklife..
I'm as relaxed after a weekend of partying as I have ever been after 2 weeks in the sun.

Oh. Think twice - it's just another day for you and me (and certainly Spade) in Dolescum Paradise. Except I'm Sickscum not a proper Doley - I'm not fit for work y'all are just lazy cunts. Go pick veggies in Poland or summat ;)

If I were a simple Doley rather than a simpleton Sicky I would have noticed the old Dolescum thread was closed before merging it. Oh well, open until a Man comes along and splits it. I can't you see - on the sick :D

Has anyone got any experience of going on from being self employed?

Its not the money as such but more maybe blagging some housing benefit and the like. Plus that way I'm no longer registered as self employed with HMRC. I can back date it as well in theory.

I've made voluntary NI contributions but doubt they qualify me for anything.

I just signed on today!! Been out of work for 4 weeks now, and getting sick of not having any money again - really hate signing on :(

But I'm suposed to be moving this weekend and can't without SOME money coming in!!! Grrr...

I'm too lazy - I've cut down my weed smoking habits down to bare minimum (few times every couple of weeks) but I'm just fucking lazy, always have been, am actually looking for work, just not as hard as I could I guess.

Really going to go for it tomorrow and wednesday - packed lunches and snacks and go out from morning til sundown looking for work and asking around, signed up to 3 agencies already...hmm...

Maybe we need a mentals and cripples megathread too :D

Got the hattrick - great how once you reach a certain level of cripdom or are just a modicum too much madness they stop paying you to look for work and pay you not to instead. Think my last doctor's note for the social was for five years so can look at my leisure and not apply even if I wanted too, Voluntary work is great though. If it's not shit like wiping old geezer's arses and stuff. They do voluntary work placements on prescription at my doctors. Made an appointment last week and promptly fell apart at the seams (well, bones) physically so stayed in bed with fuckloads of opioids instead. Still pays the same as voluntary work I suppose. Good job satisfaction during the moments of consciosness too, Duly recommended along with (or ideally separate to) the volunteer stuff :)
