^that and the 3 strikes thing are some of the worst policies ever created. Have destroyed so many futures for non violent ppl who got caught in the system by chance. I think I remember a guy in Cali who is doing life for a few hits of acid bc it was a third strike. The private prison industry needs to go, and if you have ever seen one of the sales pitch videos for companies that build prisons it's disturbing. This deep voiced typical vo guy rambling on about security features making it seem like he's describing boarding for animals. And yeah there are plenty of animals in prison for good reason, rapists murderers pedos ect...but this private prison shit has to go. It won't because there is too much money in it.
