I only have a few posts, as I am a pain mgt guy not a rec user and dont feel I fit in most discussions. That said, I love Jazz in its may forms, big fan of Chick Corera and Carlos Rabakula, Azizia Mustafa Zadeh, Marcin Wasilewski and Brad Meldau. BTW, listening to Chick's album 'The Ultimate Adventure' on the correct balance of Perc and Soma is a wonderful thing. But mostly I listed to post 70's guitar centric fusion and world music styled Jazz. I cant believe no one has brought up the following great virtusos:
-Pat Meheny (nuff said)
-Al di Meola (my all time favorite Artist, been to lots of show and met him many times, cool, guitar/composition genius)
-Jesse Cook (more Rumba, Flamenco than Jazz in my opinion, going to see him in 2 weeks)
-Stanley Clarke (the greatest thing to come from Philadelphia since the constitution)
-John McLuaghlin (explores every sub genre and invented a few too....)
Glad to able to contribute, I listen to this stuff about 50 hrs a week while working for many years, have some good info on albums for those interested.
