perfect haze - indeed, i'll keep an eye out for future updates of the article. i dunno what to think really, my friends who are out there are joking about it being less radiation than a banana (they're in tokyo though). in fact i got that article from one of them.
its difficult cos they're (nb NOT nuclear) physicists so they have done the necessary calculations to assess they're own safety but i don't know how many assumptions they've put in, i don't think they can do objective science about something like this so perhaps they're also understating them to make the entire thing less psychologically distressing.
the article you posted definitely has a point- emergency backup relying on outside power is a bit silly, and glad he agrees that a chernobyl scale disaster is unlikely.
