Hello,
FOR TL;DR SCROLL TO BOTTOM.
I have smoked (and iv'ed it - got a friend to inject for me) heroin on and off for 2 years now, I don't have a habit as I always stop before I get a really bad addiction. I started iv'ing heroin a few months ago, I think it is much better as I just don't really get high from chasing the dragon anymore. I have a few questions about my technique, please refrain from answers such as don't bother iv'ing its a mistake ect I appreciate your concern but I prefer iv'ing it and I don't think its a good idea to keep messing it up like I am. First off:
I have very prominent veins (few friends have told me an addict would love having my arms) I insert the needle at about a 15 - 30 degree angle, in the right direction of the vein, but it takes me about 5 to 7 times to register, I don't understand as people who have injected for me have no problem whatsoever, first stab and it registers, I follow there technique (albeit not the right way as it's still not in the vein) Like I said it shouldn't be hard at all, I also have very shaky hands which is a major pain in the ass for iv drug use (genetic btw everyone in my family has shakey hands)
So basically what am I doing wrong? Its annoying because my arms are covered in track marks even when I've only TAKEN ONE SHOT IN A DAY. SIMPLY BECAUSE I SUCK AT INJECTING. I don't want to rely on friends all the time just whenever I want a hit. I have read all the iv drug use guides there is, followed them correctly but when it comes to getting it in the fricken vein even with my monster bulging veins it takes me on a good day 5 tries, if i'm lucky sometimes I get it straight away!!! (VERY RARELY)
TL;DR - How come with such prominent bulging veins and inserting the needle at a 15 - 30 degree angle, in the direction of the vein, do I never register?
Oh yeh forgot to say I insert the needle all the way into the vein ( well what i think is the vein >.<) use 1ml syringes with the little needles (think it's an insulin needle couldn't be certain)
So...tips would be appreciated.
