I've been a pretty consistent abuser of Hydrocodone for over 5 years. I managed to never let it get out of control too badly though, and my typical usage was a single 30 - 50 mg dose per day. That went on for years, until earlier this year my Norco got replaced with Roxi's. For about 4 months now, I've daily been taking 60-120 mg of Roxi's, along with 20-40 mg of Oxycontin OP's throughout the day. Over the years there have been times where I've had to come off of Hydrocodone for a few days, and while it wasn't fun, it wasn't really that bad. During those days I wouldn't feel any w/d symptoms for at least 36 hours. I'm now trying to come off of the Roxi's, and finding it a much more difficult process :). I thought I'd be able to get through this by taking 20 mg OP in the morning, and 20 mg at night, but that is proving to not help much. After just 6 hours of not taking anything, the withdrawal symptoms are setting in and I'm sure they will only escalate from here.

Any advice or suggestions to make this as smooth as possible? I expect sleep will be really difficult, especially without any benzos. I have enough OP's to take 2 per day (20mg x2) until I'm able to get a refill again. There is a part of me that thinks it is stupid to go through this only to start the cycle again once I get more Roxi's, but if I'm being realistic I know that's likely what will happen.

Mods I wasn't sure if this should go here or TDS, so please move if necessary.

I'm not sure how much I can help you. I was shooting roughly that amount of oxy daily for maybe a month and the withdrawals weren't bad at all. I was astonished how tame they were. Just be glad you aren't on morphine... I've found an equipotent daily dose of morphine has worse withdrawals after a week than oxy after a month. I'd reccomend:

Plenty of movies to keep your mind occupied when you can't sleep (or benzos to help you sleep)
Immodium for diarrhea (Also helps to lessen w/d because it is an opioid, although it doesn't act in the central nervous system (no euphoria).
Acetaminophen for aches and pains.

Clonodine, a blood pressure medication, is probably your best option to reduce withdrawal symptoms. It lowers your blood pressure, whic helps with the hot flashes and sweating, which to me is the worst part. Ibuprofen will help aih the aches and pains. Take a multi-vitamin daily, and try and eat healthy foods, even though I know this can be hard. Eat some bananas, and excersie daily, it will help immensly by release natural endorphins ans serotonin levels.

Immodium will hlep stop the cramps and diarrhea and abdominal pains, and if taking at cery high doses, such as 20-30 pills, for some people it completely stops all withdrawals and even gives a buzz. It doesn't work for everyone, but its worth a shot. And last but not least, the almight benzo would be of the greates help. 4 or 5 benzos (klonopin is the best for this in my opinion), will take away all anxiety and help you stop thinking about how shitty you feel, as well as provide some sedation so you can sleep. Just be careful with taking too many benzos, as that is one addiciton you do not want.

If you don't have any access to any benzos, then anti-histamines like benadryl and promethazine would help with sleep, as well as your runny nose. All of these suggested items should greatly help to reduce your withdrawal symptoms.

I'm in a similar boat. I finally got prescribed 60 hydrocodone 10mg per month and I go through the script in about 10 days.

This starts as soon as I get the rx filled...I get so excited and eat about 7 the first day. This begins a cycle of overindulgence which lands me with only 1 and 1/2 pills left today.

What's more, I'm going on a long road trip tomorrow and all I've got are these 1.5 hydros and a handfull of tramadol whig will help me quit the hydros as painlessley as possible.

Usually by the time I run out of hydros my tramadol will be ready for a refill and vice versa so that's how I deal with withdrawal
.

I also honestly think tramadol withdrawal is about 3x as bad as hydrocodone although its quite different.

Op, I think me an you need to stick it out through wd this time, but when we get our refills we need to start on a blank slate and only take the prescribed amount and only when we really need it.

I wish I had a fucking vending machine that only gave me 2 pills a day for a dollar each lol.

That way i could control my intake and if somehow I happen to run out early, the machine would have saved enough money I could buy some pot or a few extra pills of the shiesters if neceasary.

Also, if you can stomach it, pick up some liquor and drink that and smoke some weed with it..maybe a xanax to help sleep.

And just remember its mind over matter. The physical wd from 60mg oxy a day sure won't be fun, but you'll make it alive lol.

And when your refill is due maybe your tolerance will be back to a comfortable level so you don't have to abuse.

Godspeed man, we can do it!

I just took my last evening dose of 5 hydro 10s and I now have only 1 pill left.
U.S.A. U.S.A!

LET'S KILL the terrorists that is withdrawal with our gun which is mind power.

Good luck op

First off you should make a definitive decision whether you are just riding it out to get to your refill of oxys or if you plan to stop.

If you plan tot stop then I'd use the Thomas recipe if you can get the stuff needed (mainly the benzos and clonidine, but the other stuff helps too, just not anywhere near as much.)

If you are just riding it out then I would do everything I could to potentiate the OPs. With white grape fruit juice, cimetidine, DXM, etc. Maybe try to search around for poppy seeds to make seed tea with.

Well that is just odd, you won't find too many people agreeing with that being the case for themselves, but everyone' mileage varies.

If you continue dosing the 2 a day, within a couple days, your tolerance will go down and you will stabilize on that dose until you get more pills. You'll feel a little crappy like you are now for a couple days because your tolerance is higher right now than the 40mg's of oxy, however like I said, soon you will even out and you won't experience anymore withdrawals in between doses.
