I went on a little binge last night and on my last shot, an hour ago, there werent any available veins that I know how to hit so, I tried to use the same vein I had hit 10 times before that night, but further down towards the wrist, still basically at the crook of my right arm. Anyways, I either slipped out mid injection or the vein was damaged/inflamed to the point that the injection leaked out into surrounding tissue. The shot contained the 2nd go around at a 10mg instant release methylphenidate, crushed, mixed with warm water & filtered. The injection site isn't red, but appears bruised, a dark brown color & is slightly itchy. I'm really starting to worry that I messed up big. Should I be this worried or is this not that big of a deal. I'm fairly new to needles and this is my first issue.

I figure this has to be a somewhat common occurrence with this ROA. Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated.

10 hours since last injection. Hasn't gotten any worse and doesn't itch anymore. I've washed site several times with soap and hot water, rinsed it with peroxide and covered injection site with neosporin. Should I be doing anything different?

Well, since the injection site didn't turn red, was a little puffy and tender, but not swollen and not radiating heat. I figured I just got myself worked up over a minor issue. Hopefully it will start getting better soon and not take a turn for the worst. I don't know why I even chose to do this. Plugging Ritalin has been nearly the same feeling as injection with a ton less dangers. I think I just went to the rig for the novelty of it.

Mod, since this issue seems to be resolving itself for the most part can you move this to Dark Side or where ever else you feel is appropriate?

well glad to see it turned out fine... you didn't actually miss 30mL right? i'm not IV savy but i remember me missing like 30 units and creating a not-completely-unnoticeable abcess, how the fuck could one miss 30mL? that'd be an immense abcess! someone enlighten me please

Well i had 80 units total. I registered and started off fine, but then it began to burn, so i reregistered to make sure i was in and wasnt. Pulled slightly out an registered fine. Finished the shot, but got that same burning sensation as before when i poked thru the vein. Im clearly not positive of the total amount missed.

Im new to the needle and that was just a guess. Im right handed and was injecting into my right Arm so that made it extra difficult, plus id already stabbed that same vein a lot during earlier injections that night so i felt like anything else i put in thAt vein was basically leaking out. Again im a novice and was paniced. Arms are still pin cushions, but that seems to be the extent of the daMage

Since methylphenidate is almost insoluble in water what you recieved from doing this was probably only a novelty. If you are going to do this I would figure out a proper solution do dissolve the chemical and please make sure its also safe to inject.

Also I don't think your units are correct in the title?

I thought I was bad but 10 shots in same vein. Fiendy shit methylphenidate sounds like. Rotate and keep hydrated to combat vasoconstriction.

Methylphenidate Hcl, which is what i have a lot of, is freely soluble in water.

Im by no means experienced with this ROA. Been doing it on and off for a month or so and this was my first binge. At that point i only felt comfortable using 4 veins, the 2 large ones at the crook on both arms.

Also, at that point i sucked at injecting in my right arm since im right handed. Im not positive on the 20-30mL, but i know i slipped out & had to reregister twice, which would account for 5mL or so directly missed. I'm attributing the rest of the "miss" to leakage from the vein since it had been stabbed a large number of times in a small area over a short time.

I know a little more now, can use my left hand correctly and have found other spots to hit, but im still doing way to much way to fast. After the incident that caused me to create this thread i was able to wait a full 24 hours before convincing myself that everything was fine and i could go back at it, just one or two this time tho.

1 or 2 hits turned into another full on binge. At least 1 vein at the crook of each arm is not viable, im hoping this is due to inflamation and not permanent. There is litterally a completed dot marking of veins in both arms from just below shoulder t just past elbow. A few of these dots are looking quite ominous with large dark red spots that have a consistent dull pain with intermitent moments of what feels like a pin prick.

Im not going to freak out and jump to conclusions again, but i will update my posts as things progress. All i plan on doing is washing with soap and water, occasional peroxide and neosporin. Any advice on how to best care for my stupid decisions would be appreciated.

Oh and ive already destroyed the rigs and gave away the rest of the Rit. So treating the damage already done is top priority.

Just because something is freely soluble in water it does not mean it will dissolve in the amount of water you are trying to dissolve it in.

The solubility of methylphenidate (hcl) in water is 1.25mg/ml.. so in order to dissolve 10 mg of methylphenidate you would need 8 ml of distilled water.

Also Iv use of methylphenidate is closely associated with promotion of a bacteria naturally present in the mouth flora. It allows this bacteria to flourish and often causes many abscesses and infections. It is advisable that very strict sanitary injection is followed when useing this chemical.
