IV Ms-contin caused extreme pain

Couldn't post in other drugs forum due to prefix error..
I'm on 70 mg methadone but skipped dose for two days to use some morph.
I micro filtered around 75 mg of ms- contin controlled release pills after a water extraction. Upon injection
I got a nice rush which was goin to that nice place.... But then bang!
My entire body burned and prickled and stung with an intense pressure which I thought was going to explode my brain! I could hear my heart pumping so hard and also found it hard to breathe. I thought I was dying for a little while . After about 5 minutes the extremes faded but my hands were still abit swollen along with the back of my neck and head. I've shot lots of morph and never experienced this before.
I did inject the 75 mg in 10ml way to fast obviously but this was beyond the usual prickle tickles.
I have heard a few people that have had similar 'reactions' when banging MS-Contins so perhaps there is something in the pills that gets through the micron filters.

Sounds like a typical bad histamine reaction to me.
Unpleasant for sure. I've experienced similar, and it's not fun.

sounds like a minor cerebral hemorrhage

like elephants standing on your head eh...did you get any nausea?
 
Cerebral hemorrhage! Are you fucking kidding? Elephants yes but no nausea. Still feel a bit achey in the head today , the internal pressure was
So intense I thought my heart and brain was going to explode as I rolled naked in a bath of needles and pins!
 
That's the standard histamine reaction for IV morphine. It has nothing to do with anything else in the pill, morphine is just more prone to histamine release than most opiates, and IVing it increases the level of histamine release exponentially. Everyone I know gets it at higher doses (50mg +), and, as you found out, it can be intensely uncomfortable. It helps if you pop antihistamines before IVing, but even then you might be better off just IMing the shot. IMing can cause a localized itching and sometimes slight swelling, but avoids the 'blood rushing headache so itchy it's painful' reaction you get from an IV shot.
 
Many people enjoy that rush. It feels like it's fixing every single last inch of your sickness by tingling all over, especially when you're sick. I didn't like it at first, but it didn't take me long before I'd be craving that feeling.

From what I understand, there's a certain amount of morphine that's soluble in water, so shooting 500mg in a 1ml syringe is a waste. I think, from memory, that it's 100 per 3ml of water, which is the barrels I was using when I had access to morphine all the time. Of course, there was once I wanted better hit, so I had some 10ml syringes for plugging (unopened and unused of course chugs) so I decided to up my dose a bit. Man those are a bitch to use. I would not recommend using - at all really - but using 10ml barrels to inject is no fun. It didn't really do much more either, it was not like having 3 grams of smack compared to 1 gram.
 
There is no way anyone could enjoy what I felt. I have had the nice prickles but this as I stated was one of the most painful things I've ever felt! Think Arnie in total recall when he is rolling around in the Martian sand , eyes about to pop! I dropped the syringe and had to stand up and just clench my body under the stinging pressure. Then my hands and head were swollen and I felt bler.
Oh we'll, bad experience... Good for a recovery:)
 
Dirty hit? I've never had one of those so I can't say what it would feel like.. Anyone else who'se experience may be able to tell you if it may have been that. Or, of course - you're dying from a cerebral hemorrhage like chugs said.

i got a dirty hit of smack, coke, speed and god knows what else, the girl who gave it to me was known to put AJAX on her cones.

things got a whole lot worse after that but hey its not like you have to die from cerebral hemorrhage
 
Some of that black gas residue that accumulates on the back of a spoon for cooking got into a shot once.
I went ice cold and was shaking and jerking around like hell for about an hour. Heart pounding , sweating and trying to hold my body together while
Trying to assure the woman I was okay.... And not scared shitless.

Great contribution. Even though I don't know if you're attempting to insult some of the posters in this thread, or just make some light hearted jokes. The fact is, from what I can see anyway, someone wants some serious help on a harm reduction forum. Suggesting that he has given himself a cerebral hemorrhage is another of those imaginary lines I would not cross. I don't see the humour in it.

true story

i got a shit shot. the symptoms were nearly exactly what the OP stated. Blood on the brain. It doesn't necessarily result in death all the time, just around 40%. The only difference between me and the OP was it took a little longer to come on and then i ended up in hospital. I won't tell you the entire story but suffice to say it was extremely fucked up and messy. Literally shit and vomit coming both ways as well.

and the OP wanted to know what it is. Some people claimed it its anti-histamine response and the people like me would say mini stroke.
 
It was the AJAX part that.. meh. I'm too gullible at the best of times. Apologies if that's what happened, sounds terrible.
 
Unless you're experiencing persistent symptoms, it's almost certainly just the histamine release everyone gets when IVing morphine. That said, you can never be too careful.

morphine sulphate's solubility is between 40-60mg/mL. which is why i use 3 or 5mL barrels depending on the size of shot i want.

i use 3mL barrel for 100MG shot and 5mL barrels for 2-250mg shots. i then plug the left overs as there is always some left over because of the wax matrix they'remade up of. alternatively i collect the filters/goops and store them in the fridge for when i want to use them a day or two later for plugging and always get a decent hit from it.

i assume that was from adding heat, the black residue? DO NOT ADD HEAT TO YOUR SHOTS! it allows insoluble fillers/binders into the end shot and allows the wax to melt down and precipitate back into the shot once it has had time to cool down. which them accumulates in your veins, clogs arteries, etc, etc. again, never add heat to MsContins!

always pre-filter with a cig filter then run through an .22 micron filter.

Please don't take medical advice from online sources. Go book yourself in to the doc, explain the situation and go from there. You could have caused am serious damage and guessing games aren't the best things to play when it comes to things like this.

Exactly! I see you are in Melbourne GK. There are 5 primary health services for people who inject drugs in Melbourne - so they are your best bet for some accurate, non-judgemental medical advice:
Collingwood: Inner Space 9468 2800
Dandenong: Foster St Clinic 9794 7895
Footscray: Health Works 9362 8100
Melbourne City: Living Room 1800 440 188
St Kilda: Access Health 1800 627 727

There's a couple of youth services too - YSAS Fitzroy 9415 1698 (under 22), Young People's Health Service City 9611 2409 (under 23)

All these services have health workers with specialist knowledge around injecting related injuries so probably going to give you better support than your average GP

FWIW my guess is histamine reaction or dirty hit, but diagnosis by internet sucks so don't listen to me :) a brain bleed (CVA or cerebro-vascular accident) is a possible result of a stimulant OD so pretty unlikely from a morphine shot (Chugs mentions injecting heroin/coke/speed so a stim OD not out of the question in that case...)
