Is xanax worth trying for recreational purposes?

I've tried the 3 you mentioned plus temazepam and Xanax is A LOT better, but not as good as Ambien.

valium, klonopin, and ativan are not triazolo benzos. klonopin is not a classic benzo either.

it actually doesn't work well for anxiety disorders because it gives no ;feeling' in the body after youve taken it. and this is sometimes psychologically imperative in the process of managing ones anxiety. on klonopin i feel like ... "did they screw up this batch of pills or something?.....at hoffman la roche in switzerland....where each pill costs three african child laborers... no. i just feel nothing. its no wonder that klonopin [or as it was initially called Clonopin, which i like better] was, for a very long time, an AED...and only much later did it become an anxiolytic.

valium at least you can feel in high doses. i like it sometimes. its especially nice prior to cannabis smoking and intellectual 1960s film watching. and its that classic blue pill that you take with you gin martini in the 'society setting'.....valium is america in drug language.

ativan works not well. some people benefit. but at higher doses, it feels a bit like a dissociative for some. and thus mood issues ensue.

XANAX , even at small doses, gives a very pronounced feeling of calmness. Your first time taking it, you will think...my god...why is it so easy to walk up this flight of giant stairs and why is the spring time wind so pleasant as it grazes against my cheek? it's not euphoria - its a sense of "everything is gonna be allright now because momma's here now so don'chyou fret chile" you know? try it. take it on empty stomach, sit down doing something for 30 mins or so, and theen get up and go somewhere...as soon as you get up, youll be like 'whoa'. or... youll be like 'wtf?' and go lie down for a 3 hour nap.

so it cannot be foretold.
all i can say is

should you try it? YES
will you enjoy it? YES

objectively speaking

oxazapam is MAD euphoric yo.

they be sellin it in all the hot spots in da city.

we call them pammies cuz someone once called them oxys and gat cut for lyin.

7.5mg will make you trip balls LITERALLY. Try that one. I think some pharmacies still carry them. It's like a schedule 7 substance.

It dosnt really have any recreational effects, but its good for when your coming down.

^ You would have to not like pleasure to dislike opiates. Those people probably just take too much.

some people simply either don't get much euphoria from opiates, or get very unpleasant side affects. i do not enjoy the affects of opiates at all and ive tried all ranges of doses.

benzos are cool in small doses to relax

I always thought the best way to use them was to enhance other drugs, especially weed, that is the best combo IMO

they are nice with opiates too in small doses (YEAH YEAH its a dangerous combo before somebody jumps on me)

I am one of those like other people in this thread who never found benzos alone to be that great of a recreational drug, a lot of times they just make me tired.

I also never found that any of them were more euphoric than the other... really none of them are euphoric to me. I have experience with all of the popular ones (xanax, klonopin, ativan, valium)

Maybe you are allergic.

What kind of side effects do you get? nearly all of the negative side effects can be remedied with something like diphenhydramine which is an anti-histamine, anti-emetic, and anti-vertigo. So it alleviates itchies, nausea, and dizziness.

Are you sure it's oxazepam? It's a pretty weak benzo it isn't even sold in 7.5 mg dosages, it's sold in either 10, 15 or 30 mg. Even at doses of 60-120 mg its effects are quite weak and hardly euphoric. What country are you in? I've never heard of Schedule 7, except in Australia where Schedule 7 refers to highly toxic poisons...

i've taken opiates with diphenhydramine and it does nothing to alleviate the side affects for me. i get:

- incapacitating nausea often lasting 12 hours in its acute phase and then continuing into the next day or two before resolving.

- general stomach pain and discomfort

- dizziness

- gagging feeling in the back of my throat

- insomnia

- itching

- constipation and inability to urinate

- weakness

- unpleasant "dopey" feeling

- weird/recurring obsessive thought patterns during the "nodding" phase

basically, the experience just isn't enjoyable at all. there have been times when i've gotten absolutely no euphoria and even when i do get euphoria, i can't enjoy it because of all the negative side affects. i've only had 2 good opiate experiences that weren't ruined by side affects.

It was a joke lol

Well, of course i was speaking in generalities. MOST people find opiates pleasant.

But here's a little advice that may help you get over the side effects:

- 12.5-25mg's meclizine for dizziness, nausea, and itching, but it wont contribute to that dopey feeling which was probably caused by the diphen. Maybe some pepto bismol too if that doesn't work alone. Alternatively you can take your opes rectally so theirs no stomach problems or nausea altogether

- Some laxative with aloe pulv (works within 24-36h), and lots of fiber. This should allow you to comfortably take a shit the next day. Drink lots of water too. The water can reduce the dopey feeling and help with constipation too.

The weird thought patters are part of the hypnagogic state. I don't see what's so unpleasant about them.

Well Xanax is chill I guess. Haha I only mix Xanax with beer/weed or for coke comedowns your ass will be out after a Bar. Yeah though by itself its not that euphoric at all and if it is its for 45mins at best..

By the way I dont suggest mixing Beer or anything at all with it if you dont have experience with benzos. Just know your limit and be careful..

i don't know where to get meclizine if its not over the counter and the dopey feeling is an affect of the opiate itself because it occurs with or without diphen.

the mechanism of action for opiate related nausea is not direct stomach irritation. nausea is a side affect of opiates regardless of the route of administration.

i simply find them unpleasant.

^ It's just the best for anxiety. Valium and midazolam are regarded as the most euphoric though.

A lot of people seem to think that midazolam is especially good but are you sure about Valium? I don't get the same impression from stuff people have posted here and I don't like it at all.

^ me neither, but benzo connoisuers say thats it's one of the most euphoric.

hmm... Xanax...
I like that it's fast-acting, and it's great for what it's designed for.
I wouldn't take them or any other benzos for recreational purposes, though.
At least not by themselves. I like to have a few mgs of Xanax on hand when I take psychedelics, just in case things start going bad.

And totally DO NOT mix (tons) of benzos with (tons) of alcohol. I know a few people who've died from overdoing it. Lives were lost, families broken, etc. It's bad news.
Then again, they took like beaucoup-jillion pills and drank enough to poison and kill the population of Ireland (wow). So if you have any common sense, you're probably ok.
