Huffing glue is VERY popular in Romania specifically but also in other countries in Eastern Europe, and generally only with the street kids. In Romania you can still buy at any age alcohol and cigarettes, much less steal...in Romania you can steal ANYTHING!! Not just this but until 1998 you could get pure unadultered 15mg codeine pills in 10 pill blister packs without a prescription. The same thing went for ANY type of benzos, ESPECIALLY diazepam which was a very popular medication for people in Romania. You could walk in and also get a wide variety of barbiturates without a prescription like phenobarbital in 20mg pills and amobarbital in 25mg pills......those were the only ones that almost every family househould had, and they were as popular medications as the diazepam. Now all these medications require a prescription before you walk in the pharmacy door.
Communism and the official end of Dictatorship in Romania fell the year I was born, in 1987, when they army captured and basically assasinated Ceausescu and his wife Elena (who told the army she didn't want to live without her husband....and insisted on her own behalf to be taken beside Ceausescu to be killed by the army's firing squad), as they were both taken out and blindfolded with their faces facing the army squad and the television cameras and soon the officers left the two couple alone standing as if leaning on the wall beind them but they were actually standing straight and both their hands tied behind back too. After that the whole squad started firing at the couple for about 1 minute it seemed, after they stopped you could see the dust in the air (a lot of dust) from the concreat wall in the back and from the couple's bodies. While the squad countinued firing at them, Ceausescu fell to the ground almost like a Christian kneeling in front of East for prayer with his hands tied behind his back, and then eventually from kneeling position his face/forehead went right down (but gently) face first into the ground, the only thing you could still see in the mist of dust was the great leader dead kneeling as if in front of the nation with his head/forehead on the ground (like a Muslim does his prayer), his hands behind his back were the only visible parts of his body, tied behind his back still, and right besides him as promised was his wife Elena, around the a dust of gun smoke and dust from the bullet wholes of a whole army sqardon firing on only two people.....that is how communism fell in Romania. Only to be replaced by another Communist, Ilie Iliescu...To this day in Romania they still show the uncensored execution in its entirety, except the event leading up like their 'interrogation', and the events of the so called Romanian 'Revolution'.
I need my dose of methadone and clonazepam as I am noticing my ramblings, which are not at all related to the thread. But anyways the point I was trying to get across was that yes in fact, the majority of the glue sniffers worldwide sniff glue because they are poor and the glue is very cheap and can also be stolen if money is the issue.
In Romania, even in my father's and mother's days, the 'Glue sniffing street kids' were a natural phenomenon, and our country's epidemic. We in Romania, BECAUSE of Communism and Dictatorship seldom used drugs (illicit drugs like Hash or Weed, Heroin, etc). Ever since the day Ceausescu was born Romania had plenty of glue sniffing street kids and on top of that Romania since then was a transhipment point for heroin passing further into Western Europe...but just that. We had of course drug addicts but they were never made public (spoke about it except with close friends ie other users, and ALWAYS concealed their use, for example people in the army to this day who use heroin ALWAYS inject in the veins by their toes so that a simple routine check for drug use will not show syringe marks). People in my dad's days and mom's days would never see or hear of someone using illicit drugs, though glue sniffers were a plenty. You see Romania went through an eppidemic as well, while America (North America) went though a Crack Coacaine epidemic we went though a Glue Sniffing epidemic though we never solved it or tryed solving it b/c the ones sniffing glue were street kids who NONE of society wanted, while in America it wasn't only the coloured people and the homeless, ie (the invisibles) and the minorities using the crack cocaine but suburban people of the 'elite' class. In Romania b/c it was only 99% street kids using it who no one gave a shit about....even my dad a police stick a steel type of rubber material that really hurt ovisouly that was always in his car, because at intersections and stop lights street kids come to car by car knocking on windows to plain out beg for whatever..not neccessarily money whatever..a candy..a cigarette...while others wouldn't ask for anything and thier routine rather than giving you at the window a hand to put some change in, they would rapidly (2-3 of them) start going 'cleaing' your windshield...when either scenarios happend my dad would open the door and show them the stick like he was gonna hit them and sometimes he would chase them away but all kids would run away (they all knew/recognized that stick).
Now after Ceausescu was assasinated in 1987, illicit drugs became more available and not only that but also more permissible. We had our own Hip-Hop and Rock groups singing in Romanian about drugs as well we consumed everything that came out of North America from movies to clothes to speech even to music and to diet, ie: by 1997 we had a McDonalds a few minutes walking distance from my building....and now on every apartment building and barracks was spraypainted NIRVANA (the Punk Rock group...which was alwas popular in Romania) and right beneath it (A newer addition, a newer spraypainting) would say B.U.G. MAFIA (Bucuresti Underground Mafia) which is one of the first Romanian Hip-Hop groups. Also when I left in 1997, a new phenomenon (a bad one) was in the stages of growing...Romania had already given birth and the baby was waiting to become a giant. In 1997 Romania, as a heroin transhipment point turned into a consumer country for the first time. And it turned out big time.....the streets became flooded with heroin. When I left I never even heard the word Marijuana around the school, the older kids, etc. When I visited back in 1999, there were signs of this everywhere....in the newspapers and in the magazines there were tons of junkies describing their circumstances and experiences.
In 2003, a Romanian Hip-Hop singer from a group La Familia, Tudor Sisu (whose name is in my avatar, which tanslated in English means 'FREE SISU') who was senteced to 3 years in jail after police found in his apartment 10 grams of heroin in something like 10-12 different places though the apartment (meaning 10grams of heroin times 10-12 hiding places = 100-120 grams of heroin) in addition to some methadone pills. Sisu Tudor admits being dependent on heroin but says that the police planted extra H to make the case even worse). On the same token in Romania the drug policy is FUCKED UP to say the least because if you are cough with Marijuana or Hasish lets say 10 grams of Marijuana you AUTOMATICALLY get 3 years in prison, but your good friend is cought with 10 grams of heroin...he also gets 3 years in prison. The reson is because in Romania they have decided (i'm sure after the model of the U.S, who by the way Romania has been trying to be on the good side of the U.S since early 1997 when it was the frist try of Romania to get into NATO. We never got into NATO......Forget the Europen Union lol, except until 2-3 years ago. EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY before or shortly after the United States' war on Terror (war OF terror is more proper) we got into NATO and every Romanian was very happy at first and then we all though 'We Now?'. Why now is because after the U.S' War 'On Terror', the United States has now currently got their own military base on Romanian soil right by the Black Sea, which in our times currently is of ENOURMOUS GEOGRAPHIC INTEREST TO THE STATES and their allies like the British and the Jews.
BTW; Did you know! That only 3 million Jews live in Israel, WHILE 68 million live in the United States. What am I saying is very simple and I should HAVE TO SAY IT: United States should rather be called WESTERN JERUSALEM or WEST ISRAEL, while Israel should be called EASTERN JERUSALEM *JUST* like Bangladesh is known as EAST PAKISTAN.
Also the reason the majority of the world associates Jews with Americans is because of the unconditional financial and other wise support that the United States has time over time again given the Jews in Israel. The most discriminating act of the U.S toward the Jews was in made in 1967 in Israel' 6 DAY WAR! The reason it TOOK 6 days for Israel to win the war against not only Palestine but also Syria, Jordan, Lebannon and Egypt, thus the army of the Jews in Israel was basically at war with the Arab world and the Arab nation. It was Israel again 4 very powerful nations, and the Palestinians on top of that which didn't really have a well established army of their own at that time (at least one that could stant up to the high tech machines of Israel like their tanks and superior weapons ALL of which were donated by AMERICA (U.S.A)). Egypt and Syria and Jordan AND Lebannon ALL had armies that could stand up to the Jewish War Machine ESPECIALLY ALL THE ARAB NATIONS COMBINED! Even so with the technology of the U.S.A. the Jews in Israel won the 'War' of 1967 in 6 FUCKING *DAYS*!

Just about a week or two ago a group of Romanian Christian made up of younger teenagers went for a week to Jerusalem. I wanted to go but I decided not to because my heart would be full of hate...and for a while I was even contemplating going to Jerusalem with the group *JUST* to kill ONE Jew and all the money in the world would be worth it!
