Bupe Is less really more with bupe?

I have always heard people say that less is more with bupe, primarily because more of it metabolizes into norbuprenorphine with doses under 4mg, the main metabolite responsible for its effects. But does this necessarily mean that this is true? I have always had stronger effects from a higher dose. 8mg of bupe gives me a nice buzz and good pain relief, and destroys all cravings. But 4mg and under does not seem to produce any of the euphoria or pain relief, and even lower doses seem to do nothing except maintain me.

Could the fact that I am only taking buprenorphine have anything to do with it? I never got a buzz from suboxone, all it ever did was maintain me. But with just straight bupe (Subutex), I get great euphoria and pain relief, mg per mg when compared to suboxone.

I understand that this goes against all scientific and clinical data, but does anyone else agree that higher doses work better for them?

With bupe ultra less is more. IME. If a lower dose doesn't hold you though, you need to taper down and you're brain with decrease you're amount of opioid receptors after an adjustment period. Then most people report better effects than the higher doses. yadamean?

Your question(s) has been answered a hundred times all over the internet and discussed ad nauseum.

I always read the argument that less is more because of NORbupe being a full agonist it must be better than its parent compound. This is not true. If NORbupe had higher binding ability than bupe we would most prob not have this fantastic medicine due to NORbupes rather unfavorable characteristics. NORbupe would very displeasurable as it has a rather hard time sifting through the BBB and is more active in the gut and lungs. So for one to reach super thueraputic thresholds trying to achieve euphoria.

So I have never really understood this less is more. Me personally I find doses in the 2-8mg perfect.

Well, I was prescribed 12mg of suboxone a day, and also shooting 8mgs of subutex a day, making 21mgs of bupe in total. Then, my dealer got busted and my suboxone was reduced; I went from 21mgs to to 10 mgs. In theory I should have felt fine as 10 is easily a "holding" dose-but I felt fucking bad nonetheless, and I don't know why. Don't get me wrong I wasn't in WD, but my dose sure As hell wasn't holding me. I suppose my receptors were adjusting to such a large reduction.

Also, once I was given micrograms instead of milligrams, cause the dr fucked up, and I was clucking my tits off for 2 weeks until I got my right dose, so I don't know about this less is more thing with bupe. For example, I use to take it 4mg at a time; when I took 6mg instead the effects felt stronger.

More isn't always better because Bupe at higher doses can actually antagonize itself. At doses of 32mg and higher the antagonistic effect is greater then the agonist effects. This is why there is the ceiling effect and why the normal respiratory effects of opiod's at high doses does not occur with Bupe.
