I have always heard people say that less is more with bupe, primarily because more of it metabolizes into norbuprenorphine with doses under 4mg, the main metabolite responsible for its effects. But does this necessarily mean that this is true? I have always had stronger effects from a higher dose. 8mg of bupe gives me a nice buzz and good pain relief, and destroys all cravings. But 4mg and under does not seem to produce any of the euphoria or pain relief, and even lower doses seem to do nothing except maintain me.
Could the fact that I am only taking buprenorphine have anything to do with it? I never got a buzz from suboxone, all it ever did was maintain me. But with just straight bupe (Subutex), I get great euphoria and pain relief, mg per mg when compared to suboxone.
I understand that this goes against all scientific and clinical data, but does anyone else agree that higher doses work better for them?
