Is it possible to recreationally use opiates without going through withdrawal?

So I was using opiates every day or second day for a solid 2 months (intravenously). I started feeling some acute withdrawal, so i cut back. I was 4 days sober, then my dad gives me a full bottle of oxy 60's and says 'here make some money', but instead I just binged for two straight weeks.

I then went 3 days sober
I then went another 5 days sober
now i'm on day one of being sober again.

Is it possible to still be able to enjoy opiates recreationally even though i've becoome physically addicted and am experiencing some moderate acute withdrawals? (lethargy, depression, cold sweats, lack of appetite, etc.) No nausea or vomitting though.. It never got that bad.

Suddenly today (after getting in a major car accident) i get a job. And not just any job - I'm getting salary-paid, $2700/month after taxes. I think it's safe to say I'll be able to afford my habit, however that's the thing - I don't want it to be a habit. I want it to be like drinking.. I only drink maybe once a week, do you think it's possible to use opiates in the same way without having to go through withdrawal again?

And my other question:
Since I went 3 days, got high, went 5 days, got high and now i'm starting being sober again, are the withdrawals weakening or staying the same? Yesterday after the 5 days of being sober I didn't get cold sweats anymore (constant feeling like i need to shiver), but after doing only ~40mg oxy IV last night (peer pressured me, fuck =[ ) I've got them again. It's like - I detoxed and made it through the worst parts of my acute post withdrawals but then that one use started it all over from day one again. Is this statement true or is it in my head?

Also, will it ever be possible to go back to just insufflating opiates even though I've been slamming oxy and hydro for months now? Or am I trapped in a never-ending cycle of needles only? Is it possible to go back to just snorting it? Or did i ruin that forever?

From a physical standpoint - sure, you could use opis once a week and have no withdrawals and maintain a decent tolerance.

The main problem is going to be from the psychological aspect - it's going to be very hard for you to appreciate a snorted high if you've IVd opiates for example, and once you've spent time binging on them, it is again very hard to control your doses to just once a week.

I'd suggest just taking a long break before doing opis again.

If you don't wanna get clean completely, taper down your dosages, change you ROA for the most duration, and let a little detox happen. If you wanna take a huge break, I recommend Buprenorphine partial agonist opioid that saturates the opi receptors and has the easiest wd out of the two options of opiate addiction maintenance drugs. Methadone is a full agonist, and I find the wds to be hellish.

Slamming hydromorph I assume? Those are some rough withdrawals man, shorter than h, but more intense for a shorter time. Try using Oxy orally for duration and more BA, I know IV is an unforgettable rush, but you don't wanna tolerance through the roof no matter how much money you make. Try insufflating oxymorphone, I've noticed they're cheaper, very potent insufflated, and it has legs.

Yes I had minimal withdrawals from extended use of o-desmethyltramadol i.e. over about 6-8 months becoming daily usage over the final 2-3 months, but my dosage was always much lower than other reported dosages. I would typically take around 50mg a day with the occasional 100-200mg binge, whereas some people were using 500mg a day. This must have made a difference. I had slight sniffles and minor depression when I quit after rapid tapering (down to 25mg a day for two days then 10mg a day for 2 days then nothing) but it was entirely bearable.

On the other hand I miss the drug psychologically like a true love as it allowed me to function nicely no matter what shit was hitting the fan from day to day.

Then set guidelines for yourself, what works for me is financial limits. I can only spend a certain amount depending on what I make that week on getting high, and never anymore. This has worked for me since last October.

i think you already know the answer...i feel like you are asking a question you already know to validate your answer

^^^ This. Knowin a certain ROA and usin another is apples and oranges my friend. Psy, it's gonna be a bitch. You can never forget that rush.
Good luck tho! I wish you the best!

Yes, I do it all the time

Ok I know how that sounds^ lmao..No but seriously I did many different opiates and never suffered withdrawls just have to know how to space your doses etc

What did you say to your dad when he asked for the money or wanted to see how much you made lol? Or did he pretty much give them to you, knowing you would just use them all.

I'd say no more than once a week to stay out of the withdrawal/addiction trap. That's what I do once a week for the past year and I don't have any withdrawals and my tolerance hasn't gone up hardly any at all. Also know your limits, don't take too much, just enough to give you a decent buzz. The other piece of advice I'll give is don't snort, inject or smoke it - just swallow them the way they were meant to be taken. You have to respect the drug.

Is it possible to use strictly recreationaly considering your past? ABSOLUTELY! However, it's not likely for a couple of reason. SWIM has been off OpAna for going on 8days. SWIM has been through hellish w/d's from it in the past and convinced herself she could continue "every once in a while" or "a couple times a week" lol 8) who was she kidding?! She was right back in the same place. However, her habit wasn't nearly as intense as others but it was intense enough for her. SWIM quit OpAna for good 8days ago and her saving grace was Subs, "Withdrawel-Ease", and Xanax (already prescribed). Not saying this is the case for EVERYONE but I know a good handful who got clean from this method.....the reason being is the Sub Taper feeds the need for opiates but also cleans your opiate recepters (in simple terms), the "Withdrawel-Ease" helps with w/d symptoms, if any with the subs, and any benzo will help with added anxiety. SWIM and many others I know did this and now they can truly use recreationaly (twice/wk or just weekends etc) It is true that the mental part is the hardest to overcome but believe it or not the subs help with that too, just dont get hooked...do a reasonable taper.

You will continue to go through some kind of w/d, whether just be a lil anxiety cuz you are craving or a few shivers a lil diarhea etc...untill you detox completely and get back to strictly recreational use if it is truly possible for you.

Yes, you CAN go back to snorting rather than banging just like SWIM got away from snorting and back to the old fashion way (down the hatch!) if you are truly honest with yourself, you will realize that it is the rush associated with banging more so than the high.....although the high is better depending on MOA we all get a rush from the method itself.. good luck! please PM if you want some personal advice =D
