Is it nessasary to shower everday?

i only shower out of fear of the wrath of my fascist coworkers

fri-sun, i dont shower. and i train harder on sat and sun than any other day of the week.

do i stink? pretty much never. its all diet ;-). in fact, today, i diddnt shower cuz i got home last night from training at like 12pm and was a bit broken. i slept in, and just went straight to work. stink? no. people typically stink from not-showering because they eat garbage disguised as food. there are, at any given time during the day, about 5,000 people in my office building. no one can smell me, except for perhaps being able to tell that im not covered in cologne. if anything i smell like the tea tree extracts i use to clean some cuts and wash my hands with.

actually the oils ur skin secretes are a defense shield. washing it off every day isnt exactly "good" for you. most of the self cleaning products used in the west are highly toxic to the environment, highly toxic to human beings, and further break that defense barrier down beyond just removing that oil.

but at least you get to smell like cancerous additives, right?

Right. ;)

What is your diet like? I've noticed I stink significantly less now that I'm on a purely plant-based diet, but the true test of this will be once I start hardcore biking when the warmer weather gets here.

I believe this is a good point to share in the soap free discussion posted by le moddy earlier today.

^ A bath seems way less effective, IMO. You're sitting in the scuzzy water. When you get up, surface tension (or whatever it's called) causes the water to "stick" to you, with the dirt. Sure, you can use a towel to dry off and get most of the dirt off, but it therefore seems like baths are way less effective.

Right?

Wrong?

^ That seems like a non-issue to me.

Think about it this way. When you get in the bath, all the dirt that was caked onto the surface of your body is dispersed throughout the entire tub of bathwater. When you get out of the bath, you only have a thin layer of bathwater on your skin. This has got to be a negligibly tiny percentage of all the water in the entire tub, meaning you take back only 0.01% (or whatever) of the dirt that you washed off.

Plus, as you mentioned, you dry most of it off with a towel. So I think we can safely say that baths are equally effective to showers.

^ Eh... Meh... I... guess. :P Lol, in all seriousness, you're right, but I am not about to take baths: I feel SO scuzzy after taking one, like I just sat in a tub of filth and it's almost as though that filth clings to me after I've gotten out. Bahaha.

Well, I'm off to go take a shower since I never took one yesterday. Some people, if I were to say I didn't shower every day, they'd be all "Ewwww, gross!" :P

Right. ;)

i experiment with chinese trophology, mostly eating vegetables and carbohydrates (i study martial arts so i blow through carbs like whoa). i eat raw, organically and humanely raised meats like beef, lamb, or chicken maybe once every 10 days, eggs maybe once every 2-3 weeks, and raw cheese or raw yogurt maybe once a month. most of my proteins come from nuts, legumes, or grains like rice/sorghum/millet/rye/buckwheat.

i usually eat all-fruit exclusive meals about 3-4 times a week, something like a pound of grapes (dont fuck with my seeds!), pound of kiwis/grpfruits/oranges, or perhaps a huge mix of figs, prunes, goji berries, raisins, and dates. i cant get enough fruit. i love destroying a whole watermelon all by myself (bout 40 grams of instantly absorbable proteins in one, so meatheads can go suck a sausage).

the only time i eat non organic food is when i am forced to eat out, or have to eat at work (and even then i just eat big, all leafy green salads). i pretty much always combine foods according to the rules of maximizing digestion. about 65-75% of my diet is raw, depending on time of year and current state of health.

so yeah, my sweat smells awesome. actually it was hilarious, i trained from 6am until 9am this morning, changed, and went to work without showering cuz i diddnt have any meetings and could just sit alone in my office and not interact with many people. as there are thousands in the building its inevitable i get close to someone. so this really nicely dressed dude gets in an elevator car im in, and all these girls go "oh you smell nice!" the guy says, its def not him. so the girls asked me what my scent was, assuming whatever smell they were smelling was me.

showering every day is for Eichmanns. i dont think ive put any soap on my body except for tea tree oil in about ... 18 months? except maybe some cancerous and otherwise toxic shit in a public bathroom for handsoap. i also wear deodorant about 4 days out of the year.

That's a story good enough for a tear drop, my friend. Go get them ladies! Also, I'm sure you afford this good food from your office job. How expensive is eating raw in your area?

I shower twice a day. Once after I wake up, once before bed.

I feel so refreshed after each one.

are you serious? id be hundreds of miles away from any computer if it wasnt for my fucking debt! an office job is another form of indentured servitude. youre talking to a dude that buys new clothes every decade or so. expensive isnt my style, per se.

a head of cabbage costs like $0.79. enough asparagus for 2 people costs like $3. a grape fruit is like $0.50. a whole bag of kiwis? maybe $3? a pound of grapes is like $2, and i have a hard time putting away 2 whole pounds of grapes. spinach is like $3 and usually lasts me two days. onions, garlic, scallions, cilantro, etc, that shit is like pennies. a HUUUUGE bag of chickpeas costs like $1.79 - stick em in a processor and make your own hummus, itl last more than a week. sprout your own lentis, beans, alfalfa, radishes - sprouts have a lot of protein and can completely replace more expensive options for just pennies. i can pack away 500-600 calories of fruit for like $5. you can commit suicide very slowly at mcdonalds for that price.

the only things that are expensive in my diet are bulk nuts really, medicinals like barley grass or goji berries or cacao, and raw honey is kind of expensive i guess, but i dont really use them as food. and while at that, ive just started to grow my own barely and wheat grass so it costs me like $0.22 per dose (from around $1 a dose when purchased at a market or online). regular raw vegetable based food is cheap as hell, a LOT cheaper than eating irradiated, dead, preserved, barely digestable, synthetic vitamin refortified, chemically adulterated, nutritionally pulverized, enzymeless crap that most people eat these days. its amazing the prices people will pay for toxic, nutritionless food.

if eating raw vegetable and fruit based diets is too expensive, its because your local municipality wishes to make a slave out of you. your hands are free to fight back. create your own demand for locally, organically grown goods.

i never shower every day
depends on how much i sweat
i was my hair and face every day tho

i dont wear deoderant the day i shower

i make sure that i dont smell with my friends, and they would definitely tell me if i did haha
i definitely brush my teeth

but i also havent worn socks in two years and my feet have never smelled, guess my body is just different

i think ur body can get used to you showering every day, so it sweats more.
ive never looked this up but i think your skin needs oils to be healthy.
i also never use chapstick.

I am actually starting my own garden this year, but my whole point is that raw fruits and vegetables are indeed cheaper in your area than mine. A LOT cheaper. A grape fruit here is .75 cents, each kiwi is .50 cents, grapes are about $3 a pound, herbs are about $1 each and a pound of chickpeas is about $1.50 (dried, of course).

I don't know why your food is so much cheaper than mine, unless one (or both) of us is over exaggerating. Guess I'm going to be growing all of my own stuff to avoid having a desk job. I'll stick out being a cashier at a grocery store.

Back on topic, I feel great after not shampooing my hair for a few days. I've actually switched to using a small lather from a bar of soap on the days my hair is really oily and only use the soap on my body if I'm filthy (caked in mud, etc.) or in places my skin is more oily (crook of nose, armpits, back). For me, it's turning into a very cheap venture and rewarding! I've had no itchiness or over dry skin since switching.

I shampooed my hair and soaped my body a few days ago and had intensely itchy, dry skin and scalp, even though I use all natural shampoo and soap.

I've heard peeps tend to shower less often in Europe than they do in the U.S... don't know if it's true, tho. I rather like to feel clean myself, which is why I shower quite often... unless I'm messing heavily with stimulants (alone), then I shower rarely :|.
