I still believe in my point, both negro1 and negro2..
Euphoria is subjective... If euphoria where strictly a physical thing, then everyone would enjoy all the same drugs equally.
Euphoria is a mental feeling of pleasure and satisfaction, and you cant have satisfaction without satisfying something.. hence problem solving.. A person who has an itch will scratch it and feel alot better, than a person who scrathes the same place without an itch.. (make sense?) Drug euphoria is the same way IMO.. Your specific little problems in life are the itch, and the drug that you find has the most euphoria is most likely the one that does "the scratching".. Two different people may have itches in different places, and therefore different drugs will be seen as more euphoric.. subjectivity.. Euphoria is not set in stone, but tailored to the user.
If I dont already feel overwhelmed by life, and am totally fine with where I'm at, have no problems to avoid, how could I find a drug designed to let me escape euphoric? in essense im already where the drug would take me, so where would the enjoyment or euphoria be in that..
If I am socially adept, always on task, and focused why would I enjoy a drug designed to give me qualities I already have?? I wouldnt. I would find little euphoria as there would be no real transition into a state that I desire because of qualities I lack.
The reality is that everyone has problems, and almost everyone wants to be someone they arent. .This is why pretty much everyone who uses drugs will find one or another euphoric.. It is rare to find someone who gets no satisfaction out of any recreational drug.. Its just that a person will enjoy the drug that most transforms them into what they want to be, and since we all have different desires, euphoria is subjective..
Ask someone why they take the drug that they do:
Amphetamine or coke : "It makes me more social and I like the feeling of power it gives me". I can gaurantee you that this person at least feels a little socially inept or inferior, esp once they can compare their sober self to theirselves on speed.. If they didnt feel this inferiority, how would they enjoy speed... it would not make them more social or give them a feeling of power. hence there would be no euphoria. euphoria is subjective.
Opiates or benzos : "I like the way it lets me take a break, and just rest from the worries and stresses of life.." at least thats what most downer users will say, and in that statement they just admitted that they feel the need or desire to escape from pressure.. You always get those who say "It just feels good".. Well it feels good for a reason, and these users are usually new and havent analyzed their behavior enough..
Polydrug abusers(like myself) typically feel inadequate in many areas or just in general.. Whether most of you want to believe it or not, habitual use of a drug is almost always as a form of escapism or temporary transition.. there is a reason they call alcoholism and drug addiction a disease.. Addicts are precisely what they are because their brain is telling them there is a void or flaw in their life, whether there is one or not.
Sure drugs give a body high that feels good(I mean the opiate body numbness is spectacular) and enjoyment of this can be seen as totally independent of a users mental condition.. People who casually use drugs may indeed only use because the body high feels good... However, I think most people will agree that habitual users dont keep coming back for just the body high.. I mean I cant really see spending $30 to feel good physically when Im still sitting there having a panic attack... They are hand in hand, and the mental effect, IMO, is the influentual effect of a drug.
Ive found that people who try or use drugs for awhile and then just quit, with no desire to come back, usually have no gaps to fill in their life..
Ok im tired.
