is heroin and Oxy really that similar?

I've only snorted each and I find H to be much more euphoric and much longer lasting. H tends to last 4-5 hours whereas Oxy while give me a good 2 hour high and then 2 hours or so of thinking "damn I should do more".

Unfortunately here in DC, the H is so cut that you have to buy at least 2 bags of H to get a good strong buzz going. So I don't have the same cost effectiveness of H over Oxy, so I tend to get Oxy because I know that I'm getting the same potency each time.

I didn't compare benzos to herion or oxycontin you dumbass. I was making a point that it is just apples and oranges(both fruits) between the two. Just like some like klonopin and others like valium(both benzos).....some like herion and others prefer oxycontin(both opioids). Is that concept to difficult for you to understand?
 
ive never done h although i want to. I went on lots of binges with oc and i def can relate the nodding off feeling being very pleasureable. OC usualy lasts 4 hours max for me when snorted. when i crush it and eat it mabye closer to 5 but not as hard of a peak. I have no way of finding herion around here though so i can compare.

the nice thing about oxy is that you always know what youre getting. and its called hillbilly herion because perdue, the company that makes oc, originaly released it in towns with hard industrial labor. many people who had been taking other opiates were bumped up to oxy and some became addicted whilest the drug scene found out and began abusing oc. So the abuse of oc started in more rural towns then cities, thats why its called hillbilly herion.
 
I think the only difference between oxy and heroin is that heroin lasts longer and is more sedating. I prefer oxy over heroin though. I think the euphoria from each is about the same, but with oxy I can always get to a higher level of euphoria because it doesn't knock me out. With heroin, I can only do so much before I start nodding, and taking more is not an option. With oxy I can keep going, and going.....:)

Am I the only one that gets a lot more out of 200mg demerol (orally) than 60mg oxy? Never found heroin :/

Methods of administration: Snorted, Oral... all others are unhealthy

Not nearly as potent as heroin

Availability not as great as heroin

The low cost of heroin in my area is a big plus, also I would rate the availability as A+ (if you cant score heroin 24/7 around here somethings wrong with you). Overall heroin is by far the better choice, potency being the biggest factor. Once you have a habit (h) and you try to use oxy to help you through the day it is a joke. I banged my way through 170 mg of oxy IR in a matter of 30 mins. Felt a slight rush (if you want to call it that, more likely it was just a cold water rush) for a second, than nuttin. 35 mins. later I was on my way to get something 'real'.

In my book oxy is lame. It is a waste of money. Basically it is a teenager/high schooler drug. blah puke...

Teenage pill-poppers, strung out on there parents meds, stealing lunch money to support there habits, ravished by the deadly oxycodone ---channel 5 Newz @ 10

oh yea and the heroin high does last much longer than oxycontin. And what is this oral heroin admin.? this is stupid, because the H is destroyed in the stomach.. am I wrong?

Heroin is not destroyed in the stomach. It is just a LOT less effective when adminstered this way. Most likely for the same reason that morphine is drastically less potent when eaten as compared to any other method.

I think the Erowid dosage info for heroin was something along the lines of an oral dose of heroin was 6x an IV dose. It's not ineffective when swallowed, just pretty much a complete waste :).
 
i live in philly and we got the purest dope and i gotta say at one time i thought snorting an oc 80 and snorting a bag of dope were similar until i got this dope called take over... one bag and 10 mins later i couldnt even stand so i think dope is def stronger it just depends on the quality of the dope.:|
 
The only people who can truly compare Oxycontin/Oxycodone with Diacetylmorphine (Heroin doesn't exist anymore people, it's Bayer's name brand for diacetylmorphine) obtained in a country such as England, that prescribes the real thing, not street shit. Comparing "$ xx bags of dope" to a precisely measured time-release pill is pointless. Now, how does Oxycontin compare to pure Diacetlymorphine?

Not many people have the luck to be able to score pharmacutical heroin or Diacetlymorphine as you like to call it. I hate to break it to you but street dope does contain Diacetlymorphine. Purity rates are definetly not 100% but average anywhere from 30-70%, cuts are added to increase profit. If street dealers were selling pure heroin, bags would be the size of a matchhead.

Get it? Got it? Good...

You covered it pretty well. JT's post doesn't make any sense. Pure Diacetylmorphine feels the EXACT same as 25% Diacetylmorphine as long as you take four doses of the 25%.
 
Eh, yeah, but you need much smaller doses and comparing an exact dose of, say, a 40mg OC to a bag is kind of difficult. Pure stuff can be accurately measured, so you know exactly what dose produces equal effects. Hydromorphone is rarely mentioned, how are its effects when injected compared to diamorph?

This statement is just the type of media fed shit that doesn't need to be circulating.
 
I think Jack Osbourne called OC 'social heroin.' And I think that's a very accurate description. OC suits people who are into an elevated energy as well as the warmth of opiates. The heroin bang is for people who would rather veg out on a couch with their eyes closed and their mouth wide open. I consider oxy much more functional, but I do agree that the heroin 'high' is superior.

I have had opiate dreams on 300+ mgs of nasal OC (ONCE, and I was in Church, so it may have just been god playing with me), but never on 3 bags of dope IV. When I was doing the OC, I had a really high opiate tolerance. Then there was a period of abstinence. My tolerance did go down by the time I started using heroin. Eventhough I have gotten fucked up to the point of slipping in and out of sleep, i just felt like that... no dreamy celestial bliss... i feel cheated. BUT this is also someone who can't seem to hole off of 150mg of Ketamine IM... I think somethings wrong with me.. oh yeah.. and crack doesn't work on me either... sorry to get off topic
