Is Hannah gadsby funny ?

what he said wasn't even that bad. And I'm an lgbtq. I think people who are mad didn't even watch the whole thing.
You never cease to amaze me. And this is good to hear. You just went up +1 000 points in my book (for what it's worth coming from me that is). :)

Are you one of the normal human being lgbtq people ? Or are you one of those very clearly mentally ill ones but nobody can say, hey you might need some medication, cause if they did say that they’d be a bigot ? I have no issues with lgbtq or how anyone decides the live their life, as I says my brother is gay and am prolly as open to it as a straight white man can be, but I’m just sick of all the bullshit…through my brother I have met many trans and gay people that were cool and funny as hell that I love to hang out with, and I have met some that it’s like god damn man your sick…and when I say it I get shunned for being a homophobe or whatever, it’s fucking stupid

Im lgbtq and think trans jokes can be fun. Its not like all people under teh umbrella term are some butthurt (heh) bigots.... we have fun too :reggae: 👑 :reggae:
I know Iv met a lot of cool people from that community, but it does seem to have a very mob mentality when you piss one person off, I get standing up for your friends but if they are clearly wrong or need help then why just ignore it ? I don’t get it

I dont really know. I have couple of friends who are lgbtq too and we dont talk about it pretty much at all. Would we if our lives were in better position? Idk, it just isnt that interesting topic. It just is what it is. Thats it. No need to make it a bigger deal.

I get the mob mentality. Brothers and sisters, basically. But yeah, it might get cult-like if you make your lgbtq a huge deal.

Just as an example of a crazy situation that happen to me, I was out with my brother and his friends and one of his friends was non binary or something maybe trans, honestly all the different sub groups confuse me I guess I’m not that deep in the culture, anyway they were a prescription pill addict everyone told me they were, so at some point in the night I went up to them and was just like “hey man I’m a heroin addict and I notice your going down the same path” and just tried to talk with them, as they were way younger, went in with the best intentions, then they blew up screaming at me and by the end of it if you just walked up to the situation you would think I said “I hate you cause your trans” it was the craziest situation I ever been a part of, then my brother was like just leave dude we’ll talk tomorrow, so I did and it was just a mess

Some people value identity politics more than others. I'm white you're black, I'm gay you're bi they're demisexual. They view it as part of a club and almost like a poker chip or something. I view it as just one aspect of who I am. It's important but it's not the only thing I value about myself. I don't feel the need to tell every person I meet.

To quote one of the comments on Youtube for that Hannah Gatsby video:
I cannot believe I actually did it but I even went to the trouble of watching that Ted talk of hers (because I was also worried that I was missing something). The Ted talk is more amusing than her comedy! :ROFLMAO:

Yeah but can I tell you something? Sometimes people (like me) need to be told off and put in their place. You did me a huge favor last year and ripped me a new one because I was taking the piss about Caitlyn Jenner just to be a smart ass. That little incident and the way you handled it gave me pause to sit and think about a whole bunch of things that I'd never ever have actually taken the time to pause and sit back and think about and would probably have gone through the rest of my life hurting people and their feelings without even realizing it with my words and smart ass remarks. For me personally: I think it's the way that it's done and what agenda, if any, is behind it. That doesn't mean to sugarcoat the issue or pussyfoot around bigots either though. But I know I don't have to tell YOU that. :)

thanks man, that means a lot.

Yeah, way to show people how to be understanding and tolerant of someone that is different than you, someone that is marginalized because of something they can’t help, all why making fun of member here with Tourettes and embarrassing him on a pubic forum. You’re the fucking worst kind of hypocrite there is. You have no business being on charge here for your loser junky social media garbage you have helped turn a once valuable harm reduction forum into. Fuck you from the bottom of my heart!

this ain't the lounge, man.

Oh so you mean like all people in general? :)

I honestly think that situation had everything to do with them being an addict, and nothing to do with being LGBTQ.

Possibly, but there been more then a couple instances where I may have said the wrong pronoun and someone totally melts down, I mean forget the fact that I’m just using the words that have been my vocabulary for 20+ years and don’t even think about it when saying it and take it personally, I mean if you say “let’s go guys” to a group of people and someone literally freaks out cause you called them a guy, even tho it’s just a way to refer to a group which Iv been doing my whole life, it’s not healthy I think

Oh yes I totally agree with that!
