Salutations and thank you for the welcome!!! its kind weird when you've been reading this forum for about 4 years now and finally join and start chatting with the peeps that have been posting the material Ive been reading all along!

Ha well welcome to the party at last Ricket! I don't know how you read TDS for so long without putting in your 2c. Glad you finally joined up- it's a wonderful, rocky place :)

good for you mister, enjoy the full splendour of The Dark Side at last!
*swirls dark cape around self and spontaneously disappears in a puff of sweet smelling smoke

Welcome Ricket, I'm pretty new here myself, been reading TDS for about 6 months and posting for a few weeks. Good to see you.

yes ill join in on the welcome ricket (curiously...why 'ricket'?....tho u dont hav to go into that of course!)
nah i can understand being too shy to join in for as long as 4 yrs

i only stepped straight up and put my nose in without even reading rules etc cos i was tweaked off my nut wen i joined

now if i hadnt bn tweaked off my nut it wud hav bn a much longer, more thought-out process

at least not evryone is going to treat u like a nitwit....which is wat i got (then again i was a bit of a nitwit wen i look back at those posts!)
ahhhh im glad im not 20 anymore lol

anyway WELCOME THE FARK TO THE DARK SIDE!!!!!

^ thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!

My names rick and when i started using amphetamines my buds started calling me rickyrocket and then rickett kind of just stuck!wow im already letting people know the origins of my nickname,i love this place=D

That's interesting, rickett... It may be confusing for people to call you two different names that are both not an actual first name - I know I forget easily, but I'll try to remember. Anyway, welcome again! I'm pretty new too

I'm so sorry nomofosho. I too hope this is your bottom. Welcome to The Dark Side. Posts like yours help a lot of people in moving towards recovery or adapting safer practices. My Dark Side participation has led to my modifying the way I do things and caused me to mention safety info to non-Bluelighters a lot more. Thanks for the introduction.

Nomo-
Wow......I'm sorry.
I, like Enki, am really glad that you have shared your story with us.
I hope all goes well and quickly with the U. Dr.'s.......
Best of Luck and I truly hope to see you in TDS more.
Welcome.

Greetings all. This is my first post - found the board through a Google search. Looks like I found my "family" here. I'm from Joisey / Trenton area. Looks like a lot of good discussions; I hope I can figure out how the board functions as far as posting, replies, etc.

So, hello! Guess I'll go check out some of the discussions that caught my eye.

Hmmm, unlike Yuku, it doesn't look like there's a way to "subscribe" to a topic and see if someone responded to my post(s). Can someone send me a PM and let me know how I can be alerted if there is a response to something I post?

Thank you kindly.

Cokemonger, Welcome to Bluelight :) I will send you a PM but it is good to post that sort of thing so other new comers might see it as well. Go to userCP on the Bluelight toolbar. Choose Edit Options on the right hand side in the Settings & Options group. In the messaging and notification area there is Default Subscription mode. Here I choose 'No email subscription' and everytime I click userCP it shows all the threads that I have posted in that have new responses.
You might choose email notification in which case you will have emails and updates through userCP. I have to many threads I've posted in to want emails about new responses but do it how you would like. And let us know here or in the Support forum if we can help you with figuring anything else out. Support has some FAQs and stickies with useful information about using BL and do check out the site FAQ especially the Greenlighter's Guide.

The past 4 months have been the second hardest I have ever had to deal with..frrom seeing my parents faces as they open my drug box and find every..not living at home for days..just running around with my boyfriend trying to figure ot whats next..to watching my bf's sister tell my bf that his dad found his satsh..a LONG 4 months. But i guess its one step at a time. I almost broke twice this week. once i just found a 20mg just chillin on my rents dresser..the next time i go out and buy it..didnt do it but came soooooo close. :( so yeah thats me. I live in jersey, 18 and taken, love to party, but just chill with friends.

.party hard man but responsibly.that shit.kills.bitches.

yep, welcome, cokemonger and dexys

welcome too, shawn
im really sorry to hear ur story but it is an inspiration too to hav stories like urs on TDS as it will help ppl think twice before making the mistake u did
im not saying u were stupid in doing so....not by any means - no, ur just a person who struggles with drugs, same as me, same as a lot of ppl on this site
in fact ive hit an artery myself, only it was with meth not demerol (i actually dont know wat demerol is so its probly not available in NZ - hang on, yes it is, we call it pethidine) so i was seeing evrything clearly-as and wen i jacked back the plunger i saw the bright-red foamy blood and felt the agony i was in, not exactly characteristic of hitting that particular vein (just up past the cubital median where the muscles start so the vein didnt show itself so well)
luckily i had a friend with me and he helped me by holding a thick towel down firmly on the site while i gingerly pulled the needle out
then he called the ambulance while i sat holding my arm up high pressing about 5 thick towels (but still bleeding profusely) on top of the site
all i cud think back then was 'oh fuck i missed out on a 1/4G worth of meth' but now i praise the lord i was 'lucky'

if anyone ever hits an artery that is how u tell basically - the blood that fills ur fit wen u hit is bright red and kind of foamy, rather than that darker red u will b used to seeing if ur an IV user
even if there is no pain, dont inject into that artery, do wat i did (make sure watever u use to keep pressure on the wound is clean)
also its best to shoot with friends around in case something goes wrong

shawn, plz let us know how it goes with the op and the prosthetic hand - feel free to make ur own thread about it, even....i think its worthy of one
much luck and, like enki, i hope its the end of the road for u too!

ricket - i see ur into amphetamines
feel free to browse thru our meth/amphetamines thread......theres some gd advice and support in there
my advice is to read the OP first however ;)

Haha...I totally missed this section and jumped right into the forum without introducing myself.

I'm Dopamine Cowboy and I've begun the process of decreasing and better managing my drug intake, as well as honestly dealing with all the underlying issues I have been neglecting for so many years.

Lots of inspiring stuff here...I look forward to becoming part of the community.
