Interested in backgrounds

For me its the building trade..Id like to think that most people come from varied backgrounds :) Id also more like to know the age group of people posting here..

at uni doing a science and arts degree. mainly chemistry and psychology (still in first year) and have no idea where im planning on heading, just doing the things im interested in and seeing where it takes me.

could just make up some bullshit here.

bachelor of medical science, currently studying masters of pathology whilst working full time in the field. its not so bad.

have seen a mouse submerged in liquid nitrogen then dropped on the floor in the name of science.
 
I had to freeze rat hearts with liquid nitrogen and grind them to powder for a week once, fun!

Hey, some of us Loungerats are solid upholding citizens! I'd rather understand a meme than know the half life of a pill lodge in my anus. ;)

I initially studied science with no real major. Astronomy, botany, chemistry unitl I realised NASA weren't building enough intergalatic space ships. I then graduated as a dentist before quitting my job to take up a rugby contract. Blew my shoulder out had have been staring at mouths ever since. Looking at studying a masters in implantology part time next year, provided I don't have to stop working.

I have been on the board for almost 8 years and in that time I have come to realise that not everyone is a total degenerate who wants to chase a high every morning. In the beginning the demograhics were more highly educated individuals full of molly and plur. Along the way the more messy individuals gained access to the internet and infiltrated the forums such as OD, ADD etc. Of the 100 Bluelighters I have met in real life less than 10% would be what I consider drug dependant. (Or perhaps I only choose to meet the less dependant). Believe it or not alot of us do not do drugs at all. Personally I come here while I drink my tea and enjoy the varied topics and debate that is generated by so many people around the world in forums such a SLR to CE&P. Occasionally I will troll the Darkside and ADD. ;)
 
I'm 21 and a first yr med science student. Was previously doing arts but hated it. Hoping to possibly end up in the pharmaceutical industry. Also have a keen interest in the stock market and am considering joining a political party

Back OT. Barely legal school dropout here :D

Hopefully looking to study Philosophy in my later years (Psychaedelic Philosophy ;) ). Plenty of time to have some fun until then.

I've got a passion for learning and truth's behind lies and this is a good place for both. Lots of fantastic like-minded people to discuss with.
 
@ Sykik: you said you are doing Ph.d with interest in photons and quantum mechanics, what degree did you do? Just that i'm doing a photonics and nanoscience honours degree now that and plan to do a Ph.d too.

I wish I had the patience for that stuff... lol

I mean I loved chemistry but physics bored me silly. and with soo many engrossing humanities subjects, science naturally took the backburner!

ha ha hyroller, i'm 28 and only in 2nd year!!! what do you mean you're old!

Also, at its core, chemistry is physics! Chemistry just makes it easier.
